በትላንትናው ዕለት እኔና ባልደረቦቼ ስድስት ኪሎ በሚገኘው «የፀሐይ እልፍኝ» የፀሐይ አሳታሚ የምርምር ማዕከል ጉብኝት አድርገን፣ ፍሬያማ ውይይት አድርገናል።
የፀሐይ አሳታሚ መሥራችና ባለቤት ለሆነው ወንድማችን ኤልያስ ወንድሙ እና ባለቤቱ ታዋቂዋ አርቲስት ብሩክታዊት ጌታሁን (ቤቲ ጂ) እና ባልደረቦቻቸው ላደረጉልን ሞቅ ያለ አቀባበል ከልብ የመነጨ ምስጋናዬን አቀርባለሁ።
ፀሐይ አሳታሚ የአገራችንን ታሪክ፣ ባህል እና ቅርስ ሰንዶ ለትውልድ የሚያስተላልፍ ዘመን ተሻጋሪ ተቋም ነው። በዓለም ዙሪያ ተበታትነው የሚኖሩ ኢትዮጵያውያን ምሁራንን እና ስለ ኢትዮጵያ ያጠኑ የውጭ አገር ተመራማሪዎችን በማፈላለግና በማሰባሰብ ረገድ የሚከተሉትን አንጸባራቂ ሥራዎች አከናውኗል፦
1. አያሌ ቁጥር ያላቸው አዳዲስ መጻሕፍትን በጥራት አሳትሟል።
2. ከገበያ የጠፉ ነባርና ንጥር ሥራዎችን (classics) እንደገና እያሳተመ አሰራጭቷል።
3. "International Journal of Ethiopian Studies" እንዲሁም "Ethiopian Journal of Religious Studies" የተሰኙ ዓለም አቀፍ ጥናታዊ መጽሔቶችን ያሳትማል።
4. በውጭ አገራት የመጻሕፍት አውደ-ርዕዮችንና ልዩ ልዩ ከጥበብና ከመጻሕፍት ጋር የተገናኙ ዝግጅቶችን ያቀርባል።
5. የአገር መሪዎችን (ከነገሥታቱ ጀምሮ እስከ ጠቅላይ ሚኒስትር ዐቢይ አሕመድ ድረስ) መጻሕፍት በጥራት አሳትሞ ለንባብ አብቅቷል።
6. በግል ደረጃም በርካታ ጠቃሚ ሥራዎችን አዘጋጅቶ አሳትሟል።
በአሜሪካ አገር ከ28 ዓመታት በፊት የተቋቋመው ፀሐይ አሳታሚ፣ በአሁኑ ወቅት በአገራችን በአንድነት ፓርክ ውስጥ እና በአዲስ አበባ ዩኒቨርሲቲ ስድስት ኪሎ ግቢ (ታሪካዊው የካቲት 12 መታሰቢያ ትይዩ በሚገኘው የፎረም ሕንጻ ሥር) የፀሐይ የምርምር ማዕከል ከፍቶ በመሥራት ላይ ይገኛል።
በቀጣይም ኢትዮጵያን የእፍሪካ የዕውቀት ማዕክል የሚያደርጉና አገራችንንም ብቃት የሚያግዙ ስራዎችን እየሰሩ ይገኛል።
የአቶ ኤልያስ ባለቤትና ሁላችንም የምናከብራት አርቲስት ብሩክታዊት ጌታሁን (ቤቲ ጂ) በበኩሏ በረቂቅ የጥበብ ሥራዎቿ አገሯን በዓለም አደባባይ እያስጠራች ትገኛለች። እዚህ ላይ አንድ ወንድሜ የነገረኝን ገጠመኝ ማጋራት ይገባኛል። "Kinokuniya" የተባለ ዓለም አቀፍ የጃፓን የመጻሕፍት መደብር አለ፤ ይህ ወንድሜ በሲንጋፖር በሚገኘው ቅርንጫፍ ውስጥ መጻሕፍት እየመረጠ ሳለ የቤቲ ጂ ሙዚቃ በመደብር ውስጥ ይሰማና በደስታ ይፈነጥዛል። "በሰው አገር፣ ያውም በትልቅ የመጻሕፍት መደብር ውስጥ የአገሬን ሙዚቃ ስሰማ ሰውነቴን ነዘረኝ፤ ደስታዬን የሚያጋራኝ ሰው በአቅራቢያዬ በማጣቴ ግን ቆጨኝ" ብሎ በስልክ ነግሮኛል። የቤቲ ጂ ዓለም አቀፋዊ ተጽዕኖ በኖቤል የሽልማት ሥነ ሥርዓት ላይ እንድታቀነቅን መመረጧ ብቻ በቂ ምስክር ነው።
ፀሐይ አሳታሚ ከ2010 ዓ.ም ጀምሮ ከዩኒቨርሲቲያችን ጋር የአጋርነት ስምምነት ተፈራርሞ እየሠራ ይገኛል። በቅርቡ የጀመርነው የጎንደር ዩኒቨርሲቲ ፕሬስ (UoG Press) እውን መሆንና በቀጣይም ፕሬሱ የሚጠበቅበትን አገራዊና ሳይንሳዊ ተልዕኮ በስኬት እንዲወጣ የፀሐይ አሳታሚ አጋርነትና ተሞክሮ ወሳኝ ነው።
አቶ ኤልያስ ወንድሙና ባለቤቱ አርቲስት ብሩክታዊት (ቤቲ ጂ) ላደረጉልን አቀባበልና ፍሬያማ ውይይት በራሴና በባልደረቦቼ ስም ከልብ አመሰግናለሁ!

Yesterday, my colleagues and I visited the "Tsehai Pavilion" (የፀሐይ እልፍኝ) Tsehai Publishers Research Center located in Six Kilo, where we held a highly productive discussion.
I would like to extend my heartfelt gratitude to our brother Elias Wondimu, the founder and owner of Tsehai Publishers, his wife, the renowned artist Bruktawit Getahun (Betty G), and their colleagues for the exceptionally warm welcome they accorded us.
Tsehai Publishers is a timeless institution that documents and passes down our country's history, culture, and heritage to future generations. By searching for and bringing together Ethiopian scholars scattered across the globe, as well as foreign researchers who study Ethiopia, it has accomplished the following brilliant works:
1. It has published a vast number of new books with high quality.
2. It has been republishing and distributing out of print, classic works.
3. It publishes international academic journals, namely the "International Journal of Ethiopian Studies" and the "Ethiopian Journal of Religious Studies".
4. It hosts book fairs and various art and book related events abroad.
5. It has published high-quality books by national leaders, spanning from the emperors to Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed, making them accessible to readers.
6. It has also prepared and published numerous valuable works on an individual level.
Established 28 years ago in the United States, Tsehai Publishers is currently operating Tsehai Research Centers in our country within Unity Park and inside the Addis Ababa University Six Kilo Campus (located on the ground floor of the Forum Building, directly opposite the historic Yekatit 12 Monument).
Moving forward, they continue to engage in endeavors that will position Ethiopia as Africa's hub of knowledge and enhance our country's capabilities.
For her part, Mr. Elias's wife, Artist Bruktawit Getahun (Betty G), whom we all deeply respect, continues to uplift her country's name on the global stage through her profound artistic works. Here, I must share an anecdote a brother of mine told me. There is an international Japanese bookstore chain called "Kinokuniya." While this brother of mine was browsing books at the Singapore branch, Betty G's music started playing inside the store, making him leap with joy. He told me over the phone: "When I heard my country's music in a foreign land, and in a massive bookstore at that, a thrill ran through my entire body; however, I regretted not having anyone nearby to share my joy with." Betty G's global impact is sufficiently evidenced by her selection to perform at the Nobel Peace Prize ceremony.
Tsehai Publishers has been working in partnership with our university since signed an agreement in 2018 G.C. The partnership and experience of Tsehai Publishers are crucial for the realization of the recently launched University of Gondar Press (UoG Press), and for ensuring the Press successfully fulfills its expected national and scientific mission in the future.
