Undergraduate Programs at Mekelle Institute of Technology-Mekelle University (MIT-MU)
Greeting,
Mekelle Institute of Technology-Mekelle University (MIT-MU), established in 1995 E.C., is dedicated to achieving excellence in Engineering, Science, and R&D. In line with this vision, MIT-MU offers six undergraduate programs:
Computer Science and Engineering,
Electrical and Electronics Engineering,
Electronics and Communications Engineering,
Information Technology,
Biological and Chemical Engineering, and
Material Science and Engineering.
We are seeking outstanding students for the 2024/25 (2017 E.C.) academic year to pursue their undergraduate studies in these programs. Our selection process is based on the following criteria:
Institute’s Entrance exam (English, Mathematics, and Aptitude)
EGSECE/ESLCE results
Preparatory/High School (10+1 or 11th, and 10+2 or 12th) Transcripts
We invite students who completed their preparatory/high school in 2024 (2016 E.C.) with a minimum score of 415 (for male applicants) and 400 (for female applicants) out of 700, or a minimum score of 355 (for male applicants) and 345 (for female applicants) out of 600 in the EGSECE/ESLCE.

Registration Dates: September 14-24, 2024 (የሴለ ሀ 14/ 2017 ዓ.ም)
Examination Date: September 25, 2024 (የሴለ ሀ 15/ 2017 ዓ.ም)
Exam centers: Aksum University- Axum, Adigrat University – Adigrat, Raya University- Maichew, Addis Abeba University- Addis Abeba, and Mekelle Institute of Technology- Mekelle University- Mekelle.
N.B.
On Exam Day, students are required to bring their EGSLCE/ESLCE Certificate and preparatory/high school (grade 10+1 or 11th and 10+2 or 12th) original and copy transcripts.
Exam centers may be added/reduced depending on the number of students registered for the exam.
Upon enrollment at MIT-MU and completing the requirements, students will be evenly distributed among the six departments as per the criteria of the Ministry of Education (MoE).
