Abertillery Youth Drama and Music Society

Opening night is getting closer and closer, so let’s meet some more of our wonderful Come From Away cast! ✈️

The role of Janice will be played by Liv Evans. Liv has featured in approximately eight of AYDMS’ past shows, as well as many concerts, with her lead debut performing in Six the Musical last October- where she played Catherine Parr. She is thrilled to be taking on the role of Janice in Come From Away and has loved every step of the rehearsal process. This musical has already won a special place in Liv’s heart. From learning the storyline and listening to its beautiful soundtrack, to laughing, acting and creating memories alongside some of her best friends.

The role of Annette will be played by Megan Harriman. This is Megan’s third show with AYDMS, having been with the society for over two years. In that time, Megan has played ‘Babette’ in the society’s production of Beauty and the Beast, and as an Ensemble member in Elf.

Megan enjoys performing with AYDMS outside of her career as a Barrister. She has loved exploring the island of Newfoundland in Come From Away and feels inspired by the poignant stories that have come from this incredible, real-life story. Megan hopes you all enjoy the show as much as she has enjoyed rehearsing for it. Welcome to the Rock!

Don’t miss Liv or Meg in Come From Away 23rd - 25th October! Tickets are still available via the link below or by calling the theatre 🎭

We’re only a few weeks away from opening night so let’s meet a few more of our Come From Away cast! 🌎 🗺️

Gil is 17 and has been with AYDMS for 8 years performing in numerous junior and senior productions such as Matilda where he played Mr Wormwood and Elf where he was a member of the ensemble. Come From Away had been one of his favourite shows to be a part of because of the heartfelt story behind it and the beautiful music. Playing the character of Bob in this show has been such a fun experience, especially for his first senior lead role.

Riley is 17 years old and has been in AYDMS since he was young. He is currently studying musical theatre in Crosskeys college, he has been in many AYDMS junior shows and Come From Away will be his 3rd senior show. Riley is loving putting this show together and watching it grow in every rehearsal. Riley has said he feels so lucky to share the stage with such a lovely and talented cast.

A quarter century has passed since Nick and Diane Marson became living proof that love can blossom even in the darkest of times and in the unlikeliest of settings after they met in Gander while stranded after 9/11, which partially inspired the “Come From Away” musical.
