Women in Science and Academia

Events and articles related to life and activities in Juliet Coates's lab at the University of Birmingham, UK, which is interested in plant science, specifically researching plant and algal growth and development in a way that we hope will ultimately benefit society and the environment. I also post articles about women in science, an issue dear to my heart as I am a woman in science, the School of Biosciences Athena SWAN lead, and a single mum.

General information

We are a small research group in the School of Biosciences, University of Birmingham UK. We are interested in plant and algal development and evolution, and how knowledge of these processes can benefit society by improving food production, providing new sources of fuel, and combating algal blooms and biofouling. We also seek to promote awareness of issues surrounding women in science.
