Brumski and Board Club, the largest sports club in UoB, is a social snow sports club renowned for it’s annual European ski trip with over 1000 members each year. We run all throughout the year and compete in both racing and freestyle competitions, as well as hold weekly trainings, offer lessons from beginner sessions

to higher level coaching and hold some of the best and biggest socials the uni has to offer. The presidents Izzie Ainsworth and Rudy Brass are always available to provide insightful knowledge about the club, and to welcome you into one of the top and highly respected snowsports clubs in the country.

The race training takes place at our local dry slope Ackers every Wednesday for an hour, with the aim to get certain weeks coached. We train on an individual or duals slalom course with an atmosphere to welcomes all abilities. Harriet Warmington, our ski race captain knows all there is to know about ski racing if you have any questions.

Rohan Chopra, our snowboard captain, has seasons of snowsports experience and is on hand to cultivate a strong board team presence, for racing and time trials, and exciting freestyle competitions, where the elite boarders can progress through the ranks and be offered higher level coaching to continue to master their art. Rohan is keen to increase the number of boarders in the club, through introducing and encouraging beginners to pick up the craft, and he believes in the importance of inclusivity and providing opportunities for all to take part, where he is happy to help and offer tips wherever he can.

For those fresh off the competitive racing circuit, there are many major events we send teams to, including BUISC and BUDS. All of these events encourage huge spectator participation, so insane levels of enjoyment as part of social weekends away can be had even if you're not competing. There are also national university competitions held by the Kings League on several weekends of term that everyone, regardless of ability, can come and compete in.

For freestyle enthusiasts, or those that want to learn freestyle, we run trips to Tamworth snow-dome every other week for 3 hours of free skiing where you can practice your tricks or have a cruise, with Tamworth’s own coaches on site to help you out and give you some tips, surrounded by students from universities all across the UK. These sessions will sell out fast so make sure you grab your spots ASAP! Ben Fullman, our freestyle captain, will be on hand to help people out when trying things for the first time, and is always down to chill for a drink after a long session!

We run weekly socials on Wednesday evenings (A.K.A SPORTS NIGHT!!) organised by Darcey Francis and David Shepherd, where we showcase Birmingham's best outfits, as well as having our own massive house parties and many other exciting ways to consume large amounts of alcohol (or not). Check the page to find out where we will be causing havoc the coming Wednesday night to join in the fun ;)

The Brumski dollar is in the custody of our treasurer Samran. He’s also our resident beginner, so if you’re nervous about joining because you’ve never skied before feel free to give him a bell. You really don’t have to be a top tier skier to join!! Come and find us in the Guild reception between 1 and 2pm every week day except Thursdays to sign up for trips, find out about socials or ask any questions you may have. Alternatively feel free to message this page any questions!
