Think your brain switches off when you go to sleep? Think again!

While we sleep, our brains remain busy processing emotions, organising memories and preparing us for the day ahead. Getting enough quality sleep can play an important role in supporting our mood, concentration and overall mental wellbeing.

As we get closer to World Mental Health Day on 10 October, it’s a good reminder that looking after our mental health can include the everyday things too and that includes giving our minds time to rest and recharge.

The OLCEC’26 International Education Conference is taking place on 17 November 2026, bringing together a range of perspectives, ideas and conversations across our four conference streams. 🎓

Our fourth and final stream is 'Understanding the Wellbeing and Cultural Dimensions of Human Existence.'

Stream 4 will explore the different factors that shape our wellbeing, identity and sense of belonging, looking at areas including health and quality of life, cultural identity, inclusion, social connection and communities at both a local and global level.

Join us this November as all four streams come together for a day of shared knowledge, discussion and new perspectives.
