The Bristol Paws Project We are a volunteering/fundraising society made of vet and vet nurses from the University of Bristol🧡

🐾 The Bristol Paws Project is a volunteering and fundraising society that started in 2016

🧡 We are a group of veterinary and veterinary nursing students from the University of Bristol passionate about reducing the financial barriers to pet ownership and raising awareness about the benefits of the animal-human bond.

❓What do we do❓

➜ We work with many charities and organisations in the Bristo

l community who share the same vision as us. StreetVet, Bristol Outreach Services for the Homeless - BOSH, Bristol Animal Rescue centre and Caring in Bristol.

➜ We do regular outreaches with StreetVet, where our committee members join volunteer vets to provide essential pet care and supplies to those in need. We also work with Bristol Outreach Services for the Homeless (BOSH) where we hand out pet food and supplies to pet owners experiencing homelessness.

💬 We run educational talks throughout the year mainly based on shelter medicine and fundraisers to support the work we do and the charities we work with.

We are honoured to have been named among 50 of the most influential students and societies 🧡🐾 so many other incredible people and groups on this list, so well done to all ✨

This year, we have delivered the most impactful year yet, including vaccinating over 170 pets for free, launching monthly community drop‑in sessions, and raising thousands of pounds for outreach and supplies. We also distributed nearly 100 Christmas backpacks for pets and owners, expanded donation points across the city, and strengthened partnerships with local charities. Our work continues to make a real difference for people and their pets across Bristol and we cannot thank our members, the university and all our supporters enough. Here’s to next year and to helping more people and their wonderful pets 🥰

We are proud of our partnership with , we attend twice monthly outreaches, bringing food, dog coats, harnesses and many other items. This is alongside supporting the vets and doing monthly rounds behind the scenes.

This couldn’t happen without our supporters whom collect and/or donate so generously .petstudio and Golden Valley Vets. Thank you for helping our mission to reduce financial barriers to pet ownership in Bristol, everyone deserves the love and support that a four legged friend can give 🧡✨🐾

Another successful outreach with and at the Microcampus in Hartcliffe.

Alongside Bristol Animal Rescue Centre we supplied food for many dogs and cats across the area, helping reduce financial barriers for pet ownership to those who need it most 🐾🧡

Another drop off of dog and cat food and other pet supplies to 🧡🐾 Days like this remind us why we do what we do, helping the most vulnerable pet owners in Bristol, because we know that animals bring so much to our lives and everyone deserves that blessing ✨

It’s official… the biggest event of the year is BACK! 💥
Take Me Out is returning, and trust us – you do not want to miss this one.

We’ve got our incredible presenters Andy Grist and Dom Harrison hosting the night. And if you’ve already seen their video… you’ll know that this year is extra special – Dom will be in fancy dress for the first time ever, with the costume chosen by Andy 👀🎭
Expect an evening full of laughs, surprises, and unforgettable moments – all for a great cause.

Bakesale is back (again!) and we need your help! Donate a cake for us for the take me out bakesale on the 17th April, 11am-1pm in Source Cafe. All funds raised will go directly to PAWS to support the community in need.

If you would like to contribute a cake, please get in touch with our lead event rep Becky ([email protected]) so she can give you the necessary details.

P.S. shop bought cakes are also acceptable as long as there is a list of ingredients!🍰

Our AGM will take place on Wednesday 29th April at 7pm via Microsoft Teams.

Our annual Take Me Out night is back on the 17th of April 2026 — and this year we want YOU (yes, even you hiding behind the stethoscope) to join the fun!
Last Friday, Andy and Dom officially announced it with a very important (and slightly unhinged) video 👀
