So what is this Green Impact all about? You may have noticed a poster in your kitchen saying YOUR UNIVERSIT
Y NEEDS YOU – that’s us! (Great picture right?) Overall the awards aim to help all of us take small steps to reduce the environmental impact of our University. Did you know as a University we spend millions of pounds every year on energy and waste? What do you actually want me to do? Well, as little or as much as you want really. The award goes from bronze to gold with different actions you can do, as well as special awards. There are lots of things covering energy, waste and recycling, transport, biodiversity and healthy living. Think it sounds like too much work? Don’t worry, the bronze award only takes about 10 hours to complete (more if split between a team) and you have until March 2013. We’ll provide you with a lovely clear workbook and starter pack including posters, coasters and other helpful freebies. This award runs until 22nd March 2013. Teams can be of two or more people, from any corridor, block, flat or unit, any way you like really. Multiple teams per hall can take part.
