COMMONWEALTH GAMES GOLD! 🏀🇬🇧🥇

A huge congratulations to former SGS College student and basketball player, Dwayne Lautier-Ogunleye, who has won gold for England in the 3x3 basketball at the Commonwealth Games! 🏆

Representing England at his first ever Commonwealth Games, Dwayne has achieved something truly incredible, and we couldn’t be prouder to see a former SGS College student competing on the international stage.

An exciting opportunity for our students to be involved with world leading research.

60 of our female and male ACE Rugby students have had the opportunity to partake in an international project funded by World Rugby investigating contact load in youth rugby through the use of Instrumented Mouthgaurds (iMG). These mouth guards were expertly fitted by the research team and dentists and will be worn in all training sessions and matches allowing us to monitor and understand the contact of each individual throughout their time with us. We are looking forward to working with the researchers and excited to see what the results bring.

We are always thinking for new and exciting ways to help our students develop and be involved with exciting opportunities such as this one.

On Friday night, we came together to recognise the outstanding achievements of our SGS Sport Academy athletes, coaches and teams. From performances on the pitch, court and track to commitment in training and the classroom, the evening was a true reflection of the talent and hard work across SGS Sport Academies.

Hormonal changes throughout the cycle can affect mood, body temperature, and energy use, so it’s important we understand and talk about it.

What a way to finish the season! 💪🏐

SGS Netball Academy 1st team travelled to Truro knowing a win would secure the title—and they delivered. Four goals down going into the final quarter, everything was on the line.

They responded with resilience, composure, and belief, producing an incredible comeback to seal the victory and become champions.

A huge achievement for our Female Rugby Academy, securing 3rd place at the AoC National Championships in Nottingham 🏉

Well done also to our Female Basketball Academy, narrowly missing out on bronze and finishing 4th after a 1-point game 🏀

We’re excited to announce the return of our Sports Awards Night on Friday 8th May 🎉
 
This year, we’re doing things a little differently as we head to the incredible Spitfire Hangar at Brabazon for an evening celebrating the outstanding achievements of our academy athletes and teams. Expect awards, inspiring words from coaches and staff, and a chance to reflect on an amazing year of sport.
 
🕕 Event time: 6–9pm 
📍 Location: Spitfire Hangar, Brabazon, Filton
🚗 Parking available / Walking distance from Cribbs Causeway
