The College employs over 500 full time and part time staff and has over 14,000 student enrolments. Led by SWC, GRASP (GReen Accelerator Skills Programme), is a project supported by PEACEPLUS, a programme managed by the Special EU Programmes Body (SEUPB), is a transformative cross-border initiative designed to tackle one of the most pressing challenges facing the construction sector today - the urgent need for Green Skills.

These skills are essential for delivering sustainable construction practices, retrofitting existing buildings, and meeting ambitious net zero carbon targets across Northern Ireland and Ireland.

The GRASP Programme successfully launched its masterclass series in May with a highly engaging and thought-provoking event hosted by Future Cast in the beautifully restored St Clare’s Hall, Manorhamilton.

The session brought together a diverse group of innovators, educators, policymakers and industry leaders, marking an important step in advancing green skills and innovation across the region.

Eight students from South West College (SWC) travelled to China to take part in Study China 2026, a first-of-its-kind cultural exchange programme hosted through the College’s valued international partnerships with the Chinese Consulate office of Consul General Li Nan.

The international initiative brought together Level 3 Health, Life and Personal Science students from Omagh, Enniskillen and Dungannon for a week-long programme across Beijing and Xi’an, combining school exchanges, historical study and hands-on cultural experiences designed to broaden global awareness, cultural understanding and international perspectives.

We are pleased to announce a new Level 2 Traineeship in Applied Science at our Erne Campus, with applications now open for September 2026.
This is an exciting opportunity for GCSE school leavers and those individuals looking to progress into science-related study or careers.
Equivalent to four GCSEs, the full-time programme provides a strong foundation in applied science and is designed for learners interested in progressing into areas such as science, health and social care, sport and exercise, and much more.
The course combines classroom learning with practical laboratory work, project-based activities and simulated industry experience, helping learners develop the skills and confidence needed for further study or employment.
