BTEC L2 Health and Social Care students attended the CRAIC Theatre, Coalisland last week to attend a Dementia awareness virtual experience. The students had the opportunity to experience part of what life may be like for people living with dementia.

This was an excellent event offered by the Southern Health and Social Care Trust, allowing our students the chance to gain a better understanding of the care needs faced by service users within their work placement settings.

💙Thank you to the friends and colleagues of the late Deborah Brown at South West College West College, Enniskillen, and to Deborah’s husband Harold.

Together, they recently raised a wonderful £2,480 for Foyle Hospice through a sponsored walk and coffee morning held in Deborah’s memory.

Fundraising in memory of someone special is such a meaningful way to honour their life, and we are incredibly grateful to everyone who walked, baked, donated, organised or supported these events.

Every pound raised helps Foyle Hospice continue providing care and support for local patients and families across our community.

Yesterday, our Childcare students at Dungannon Campus hosted a fantastic, fun-filled day to celebrate International Bread Day! 🍞✨ They welcomed Primary 1 children from a local primary school to join in the special celebrations.

As part of their course, the students planned and designed a variety of creative, hands-on activities to ensure the day was both educational and incredibly fun for the young visitors. 🎨📖

The children had a wonderful time tasting different breads from around the world, discovering new flavours, and learning about different cultures. They also enjoyed a lovely storytime, got creative with painting and colouring, and had a blast decorating their very own gingerbread men! 🍪👩‍🎨

Talk about a fabulous full-circle moment for the Childcare team! ✨

This morning, as we hosted our annual International Bread Day, inviting local primary school students to explore the delicious tastes of the world, we got a lovely surprise. Past student Lauren Burrows walked through our doors, but this time, she was here as our guest.

Lauren joined us in her professional role as a classroom assistant, helping guide the children through their visit. No doubt remembering hosting Bread Day as a student herself.

We are so proud when we see our past students flourish and thrive in their careers. Welcome back, Lauren! ❤️
