BESiDE is an RCUK funded interdisciplinary consortia aimed at realising the potential for the built environment and digital technologies to transform the lives of older people. It has been funded by the Lifelong Health and Wellbeing cross-council ageing research program [EPSRC; ESRC; AHRC] grant number EP/K037293/1 for a period of 3 years. It was seed funded by the SiDE Research Hub funded by the Digital Economy RCUK Grant. It aims to produce research which will be placed in the public domain via research conferences and journals and other pathways to impact including - impact on Design and Architectural practice; promotion of wellbeing; informing policy; technology for promotion active; healthy environments. We are carrying out research based in care homes.
