RGU Lacrosse

RGU Lacrosse Lacrosse RGU Lacrosse was founded in 2014 by Sierra Peters-Buckland and Ali Mackenzie. It was also our first all RGU team.

The club started by training with Aberdeen City Lacrosse Club on Wednesday evenings. We had just over 20 members of which less than a handful had previous lacrosse experience. With the help of Aberdeen City members we trained up beginners to game level and began entering a co Aberdeen City/RGU team into the Lacrosse Scotland League on Saturdays. After a successful year we decided to schedule a Gra

nite City game against Aberdeen Uni. This would make it the first time lacrosse had ever been played in the Granite City Challenge. Although a loss of 3-12 to Aberdeen Uni it was a phenomenal game. The level of lacrosse skills from a team fielded of mainly 1st year players was impressive. Our committee worked hard the first year and fundraised over £200 and secured a £750 sponsorship with Chiquitos. We were also very happy to win New Club of the Year 2014/2015.
