Our friends at Climate Action Durham are hosting Durham’s first ever Clean Air Fair on Thursday 18 June, 4–6pm at Durham Town Hall — and you’re invited!

Come along to explore stalls from local groups, hear from NHS respiratory specialists, see brilliant posters from local primary schools, and pledge an action to help improve the air we all breathe.

The event is free, open to all, and includes refreshments. Bring a friend and help shape a cleaner, healthier Durham. 🌿

Merryoaks Community Hall has completed three years open and we think you will join with us in saying that it has been a great success and such a bonus both for local residents and the wider community in general.

We always love to get your feedback on your experience of using the Hall, and what you would like to see happening in the future.

One thing that has been mentioned is better notifications for those not on social media- many people are relying on our website to give them info about our events but it could really do with a refresh. So we are calling out to anyone who would be able to help with this - not necessarily for the long team (unless you want that) but updating it and giving us some tips on easy maintenance.

Also, just a reminder and Community Bookclub, tomorrow 1st June at 6pm to 7pm discussing The Life Impossible by Matt Haig, Coffee morning 6th June 11am to 12pm with PATmen and Eco van, Cake and Crafts in aid of Poppy’s Light Foundation 6th June 1.30pm to 3.30pm.

Our Sunflower Memories display is a beautiful way to celebrate and remember someone special 🌻💚

Throughout June, dedicated sunflowers will fill our Hospice gardens, each one representing a loved one who continues to be remembered and cherished.

After the display, you’ll be able to take your sunflower home as a meaningful keepsake.

If you would like to dedicate a sunflower in memory of someone close to your heart, you can find out more here:
