Durham Chinese Students & Scholars Association CSSA Durham is a student-led organisation aiming to organise, sponsor & support various social and cultural activities among Chinese students in Durham.

Welcome to the Chinese Students & Scholars Association (CSSA). CSSA UK is the largest Chinese students and scholars community in the UK under the guidance of Education Section, Embassy of the P.R. China in the UK. Affiliated to CSSA UK and established in 2000, CSSA Durham is a non-political, non-religious and non-profit community, which organises, sponsors, and supports various social and cultural

activities among both Chinese and non-Chinese students and scholars in the UK. CSSA Durham fundamentally aims at ensuring the interests of all Chinese students and scholars are represented and protected, and on the basis of which, to promote Chinese culture and improve the mutual understanding between the Chinese students and scholars. CSSA Durham establishes positive relationship with Manchester General Consulate, Durham County Council, Confucius Institute, Britain Chinese Entrepreneurs Association and Durham International Office to help and support Chinese students and scholars in terms of study, employment and life. Each year we organise influential events including Asian Culture Festival, Spring Festival Concert, Charity Ball, Asian Party for Halloweens, academic lectures, career skills sessions and Mandarin Training. Our ultimate goal is to lift the due reputation and diligence of Durham University in China on one hand; and improve Durham students’ awareness and knowledge about China on the other.
