This Friday, at 12:30 in Streatham Court LT D, join us for one last extra special guest event this year! Joining us are friends of the society and Dalek operators; Nicholas Pegg and Barnaby Edwards, along with the legendary Anneke Wills (Polly Wright): https://fixr.co/event/in-converstation-w-anneke-wills-nicholas-pegg-barn-tickets-350531207

We will be screening two episodes of Anneke’s choice; The Tenth Planet Episode 2 and The Moonbase Episode 2. This will then be followed by a Q&A with Anneke, Nick, and Barnaby, where you will have the oppotunity to ask any burning questions you have.

Anneke Wills is best known as playing Polly Wright; companion to the First and Second Doctor from 1966-67. She has reprised this role for audio dramas with Big Finish Productions, and is also notable for playing Lady Louisa Pollard amongst other original characters. Outside of Doctor Who Anneke has starred in countless other TV and film productions including classic shows like The Avengers and Strange Report!

Edwards and Pegg have a long history with Doctor Who, and are best known as Dalek operators since 2005, featuring in episodes of the main show, Confidential, and ‘The Five-ish Doctors Reboot’. They also have extensive writing, directing, producing, and acting credits through the audio dramas of Big Finish, and have written for reference books amongst other publications.

We can’t wait to host the three of them for what is sure to be a memorable afternoon!

Hello,

I just thought I should make a post about the society this year. Unfortunately the society couldn't put together a committee for this year so is officially dormant, however if enough people are interested we can look into reforming the society and message the page if you'd be interested in forming a new committee.

In the meantime, there're other societies at the University for whovians, such as University of Exeter Sci-Fi and Fantasy Society of which I'm the current president of (I've been on committee for Doctor Who Society also) so would be willing to do a few Doctor Who themed events if there's sufficient interest. That's probably the closest society to the Doctor Who Society however I'm sure other hobbies and interest societies may cater to your other interests and some people there may share an interest in Doctor Who.

I hope you have a great time studying in Exeter and enjoy Freshers' week 😊

Hi everyone!

We are hosting our annual election for the 2021-2022 academic year. Ideally, we would like a full committee next year, however in recent years the committee has dwindled a little. To be able to continue next year, we need a President, Vice-President, and Treasurer at minimum. If these posts aren't filled, it's likely the society will not be able to continue next year. If you are interested in running, please consider taking part in our election. All the details are below. It would be great if the society can keep running next year; I think we could all do with an extra year of criticising Chibnall's most recent episodes. (Orphan 55, I'm looking at you...).

The nominations (where you can nominate yourself to stand) are opening on 13th April at 00:01. During this period, you can nominate yourself to stand. A manifesto is not needed, but it would be nice if in the manifesto you could say a little bit about yourself. There are 5 positions available this year: President, Vice President, Treasurer, Social Secretary and Screening Secretary. As stated earlier, we need a minimum of 3 positions filled to be able to continue next year. These nominations close on the 21st April 2021 at 00:01.

Straight after nominations have closed, the voting will begin! Voting opens on 22nd April 2021 at 00:01, and during this period ALL members can vote for whom they want to take over the reins. Voting closes on 29th April 2021 at 00:01, and the results will be announced shortly after.

Please visit the link below to nominate yourself.
