♻️🌱Can sustainability exist within endless growth?
As continues to rise globally, this question becomes an increasingly important one to answer.
✏In his recent Monthly Review article, Professor Benjamin Selwyn explores how many practices celebrated today as innovative sustainability strategies were already identified by Karl Marx over a century ago.
The article challenges mainstream circular economy narratives that promise sustainability without questioning the underlying systems driving , exploitation, and environmental destruction.
It concludes: 'By reducing and eventually eliminating extraction-production-consumption-disposal/waste under competitive accumulation, it would be possible to rationally plan production to meet human and our planet’s environmental needs.'
