Tomorrow is World Mental Health Day 💚 Yesterday, we came together across our UWS campuses to mark the day with some fantastic events.

We want to remind all our students that the UWS Counselling and Wellbeing Service is here to help you look after your mental and emotional wellbeing. Our service is completely free, confidential, and provides a welcoming environment for everyone.

Here is a quick overview of some of the support available to you:
🗣️ Wellbeing Appointments: Book a session with a counsellor to talk things through in a safe space.
📚 Reading for Wellbeing: Borrow practical self-help books from the UWS Library.
🧘 Mindfulness Classes: Join our free weekly drop-in every Thursday from 7pm to 8pm at the Lanarkshire campus (The Auditorium).

Our UWS Biomedical Science students have been incredibly busy! 🔬🌍

Kayleigh, Marni and Sophie recently secured some fantastic placements to build their skills in real-world environments.

Kayleigh was one of only 19 students selected from 500 applicants to work at the Francis Crick Institute in London, focusing on pancreatic cancer research. Marni spent her time at the highly competitive Imperial College Revolutions in Biomedicine programme. Meanwhile, Sophie took her skills global with an overseas placement in Sri Lanka, working on the frontline during a major dengue fever outbreak!
