A day in the world of our woodland holiday club and because I am a total nature nerd, I just got to squeeze in some good nature ed opportunities. Ever wondered what different creatures you'll find between dead and alive trees?
Go and explore! Find those wondrous green crab spiders and woodlice eating spiders! All polished off with cooking campfire hazel leaf cookies - so we could eat leaves like proper chomping caterpillars! 🐛

We would love you to join us for the Middle Marches Community Land Trust Sowing Seeds conference on 7th August 😍

Engaging young people for a lifetime of engagement with nature.

How do we think about succession planning for a new generation of nature lovers? What are the entry points into nature-based activities and the potential for future employment opportunities?

With this conference we will look at ongoing youth investment in nature, ways of combatting eco anxiety and the development of citizen science.

Well what a way to spend a sunny morning! Hapa zome and whittling to create some beautiful flags and wall hangings 🌸🌱🌻 Followed by some popcorn over the fire (the long handles on the popcorn makers were a welcome distance from the fire today!) and elder kazoos that we used in our group game at the end. Amazing what you can pack into two hours 😬

(FYI, for those wondering about hapa zome, it is a traditional Japanese art form, celebrating the beauty of leaves and flowers. It’s a simple process involving bashing the foliage under a mallet/hammer to imprint the colours and patterns of the flora onto the fabric. Always with beautiful results!)

I am so chuffed to say that we are going to be back in Knucklas at the end of the month, at the atmospheric and special spot of Knucklas Castle. Hurrah! This community land is hard to explain - it’s just somewhat magical?! It filled me with so much joy going through our previous photos from the last project, there’s some real corkers!

So do come along and join us in our upcoming family friendly ‘Connecting People & Land’ sessions on the last Saturday afternoon of each month. We will:
