❓ Do you need to reapply for the Disabled Students' Allowance?

If you are in receipt of the Disabled Students' Allowance, please check whether you need to re-apply to ensure that the funding and support continues. You will need to reapply if:

🟡 You are coming to the end of a course and moving on to a different course here at Huddersfield (e.g. finishing an undergraduate course and moving on to postgraduate study)

🟣 You are a postgraduate student moving from one year to the next on the same course

🔵 You are a part time student (at any level of study) moving from one year to the next on the same course

Please note, undergraduate students continuing on the same course and moving from one year to the next do not need to re-apply for DSA.

If you need some support and guidance to re-apply, please email Disability Services ➡️ [email protected]

Criminals send phishing emails to their victims hoping to trick you into clicking a link, enabling them to download a virus onto your computer or steal personal information.

But reporting phishing emails doesn’t just make you a harder target, it also prevents other from falling victim to scams and may help stop criminal activity.

So, before you delete suspicious emails, always report them by forwarding them to: [email protected]

For emails that have come to your University inbox, please do not send these on to IT Support. Instead, with the message open, click ‘Report Message’ on the toolbar and select the appropriate option between ‘Junk’ or ‘Phishing’.

Just 14 per cent of care leavers enter Higher Education by their 19th birthday*, compared to 47 per cent of the wider population. It's with this in mind, we would like to extend a massive congratulations to Courtney, Lequisha and Leanne who all graduated from the University last month. It's an achievement they should all be extremely proud of.

Courtney, Lequisha and Leanne all experienced life with foster carers or in homes during their childhood and were still able to overcome all obstacles and earn their degree.

We caught up with each of them last month to ask about their student journey and how support from University of Huddersfield Wellbeing and Disability Services helped them throughout their time at Huddersfield.
