Student wellbeing is just as important as academic success.

Recently, our students participated in a refreshing and session led by , which brought students together to pause, recharge, and focus on their physical and mental wellbeing during the academic term. Success often starts long before the results are visible.

We recently had the pleasure of welcoming Inner Anthem - James Dand for an inspiring, highly interactive guest speaker session focused on developing the mindset for academic and career success.

Through his workshop, “Think Different, Achieve More: The Mindset for Academic and Career Success,” students explored how confidence, resilience, discipline, and positive thinking can shape not only their studies but also their future careers and personal growth. One of the most valuable aspects of the session was reminding students that success is not simply about talent, but about consistency, self-belief, and the willingness to keep growing through challenges.

A huge thank you to James Dand for delivering such a motivating and impactful session for our students!

What makes a great communicator?

It is not just speaking confidently - it is understanding people, listening with intention, managing emotions, and creating meaningful connections. During our Customer Service & Behaviour Change workshop with , our staff explored the real impact of communication in professional and everyday settings through engaging discussions and practical activities.

The session covered:
✔ Self-awareness and personal values
✔ The communication model: Body, Information, Voice, and Emotion
✔ Active listening and effective questioning
✔ Emotional vs rational engagement
✔ Respect-focused behaviours and leadership skills

Staff were encouraged to step outside their comfort zones, reflect on their communication styles, and consider how their behaviour influences teamwork, relationships, and professional development. Thank you, Rizwan, for delivering such an insightful and interactive experience!

"Economic independence is not only personal success - it strengthens families, communities, and future generations."

We were proud to virtually welcome Morenike Ajayi to the , where she inspired our guests, students, and staff with a powerful conversation about leadership, resilience, confidence, and overcoming barriers.

As a distinguished executive leader, Chartered Accountant, author, and Founder of Career Nuggets, Morenike Ajayi MBE shared valuable reflections on the importance of courage, self-belief, and continuous growth in both professional and personal life. Her story reminded everyone in the room that barriers do not define our future. Instead, the journey through challenges often shapes the strength, confidence, and wisdom needed to achieve long-term success.

In a world increasingly connected through digital platforms, it was inspiring to see how knowledge, experience, and encouragement can travel across borders and positively impact communities everywhere!

What if reducing stress could start with something as simple as rhythm and shared energy? 🥁

Our Health & Social Care Practice students recently took part in an incredible experience as part of ’s activities, organised by the Department.

The session brought students together through music, laughter, and teamwork. For a moment, deadlines and daily pressures were replaced with positive energy, mindfulness, and connection. As future health and social care professionals, understanding mental well-being, emotional support, and human connection is essential. Experiences like these remind us how important it is to pause and recharge.
