Attendance is not optional - It is the difference between falling behind and moving ahead.

When students miss school, they do not just miss lessons - they miss learning. Even a few days off quickly add up, and the impact is real:

📉 Students with poor attendance are far more likely to drop a grade - or several at GCSE and Sixth Form.

📈 Students who attend regularly achieve higher results, stronger progress and leave with more choices for their future.

👨‍👩‍👧 Parents & Carers: Every absence matters. Strong attendance now protects your child’s long term success - their grades, their confidence and their future pathways.

🎒 Students: Your future is being built right now. Every lesson you attend moves you closer to your goals. Every lesson you miss puts obstacles in your way.

Show up. Stay focused. Protect your chances.

Excellent attendance is the expectation, not the exception.

Your grades. Your future. Your move.

What a fantastic moment from our Wednesday SEND after school club! 💙

Our very own judo star, Niru, took centre stage this week, stepping into the role of teacher and showing Mr Delaney some impressive judo moves! 🥋👏 From balance to technique, Niru’s confidence and skill were incredible to see.

It’s moments like these that make our SEND club so special - celebrating talents, building confidence and learning together in a supportive, fun environment.

✨ Celebrating Entrepreneurial Excellence✨

We are delighted to celebrate the fantastic success of Team Little Roots, who recently took part in a Dragons’ Den enterprise event at City Gates, Ilford, competing against 12 other schools as part of the Social Enterprise Academy programme. 👏

Working collaboratively, the team demonstrated incredible creativity and determination, designing and producing a range of innovative prototypes including:
🧵 Handmade bracelets
🧲 Fridge magnets
🧸 Fidget toys
📢 Posters

Beyond their products, the team developed a detailed business plan and carried out thoughtful research into children’s charities, ensuring their project had a meaningful social purpose. They proudly chose to support Little Lives as their charity, showing compassion and a strong commitment to making a difference. ❤️

💬 Judges’ Feedback: “A highly entrepreneurial project with strong creativity, a thoughtful pricing strategy, and excellent partnership development - including a prototype website.”

We are incredibly proud of our students for their hard work, innovation and community spirit. This is a truly inspiring example of young people making a positive impact through enterprise. 🌱

Minecraft continues to be a highly popular platform for children, combining creativity, problem-solving and social interaction.

While the game can offer positive opportunities for learning and play, features such as public servers, multiplayer modes and in-game communication can create safeguarding challenges.

Our latest guide supports educators and parents in understanding these risks and helping children play more safely.

The guide explores:
• Public server communication and contact with unknown players
• Griefing, disruptive behaviour and online conflict
• In-game spending and subscription costs
• Addictive gameplay loops and balanced screen time
• Safer settings, private servers and suitable game modes

With clear, practical advice, the guide helps adults set boundaries, encourage safer choices and support responsible Minecraft use.

While some of the Year 5 chefs from Gearies Primary were putting the final touches on their incredible Thai green curry, others were busy whipping up desserts - from colourful fruit yoghurt pots to a silky vanilla cheesecake.

A fantastic course all round, delivered with real skill and enthusiasm by Mr Delaney and Mr Kiani. We are so proud of every single young cook.

We’re proud to offer experiences like this that help children discover their talents and feel part of a vibrant, supportive school community.
