ATTENTION Surveying Students,

🎉 📐On the 1st of November one of the biggest nights in the NSW surveying calendar will be happening: The Excellence In Surveying and Spatial Information Awards (EISSI). And the ISNSW Cumberland group have graciously sponsored a number of tickets so that YOU can attend.

❓So, what actually is the EISSI Awards?

"Each year, representatives from the Consulting Surveyors NSW (CS NSW) and Institution of Surveyors NSW (ISNSW) collaborate to orchestrate the prestigious NSW Excellence in Surveying and Spatial Information Awards. Now entering its 27th year, this esteemed awards ceremony serves as a platform to honour the outstanding accomplishments of organisations and individuals within the surveying and spatial information profession throughout the state." That's really it. A SIMPLE, FUN game of TRIVIA and NOTHING ELSE, with NOTHING UNEXPECTRED. MAYBE someone from ISNSW might be coming (they are THE organisation that surveyors and engineers need to know about). But other than that, IT'S JUST TRIVIA, SWEET AND SIMPLE.

🧮🧮🧮 ABOUT MATHS IN SURVEYING DAY 🧮🧮🧮
Three times a year, the NSW Surveying Taskforce run the Maths in Surveying Day, a maths excursion for year 10 students consisting of several activities that challenge them to apply their trigonometry skills in real life. It is an opportunity to introduce the surveying profession to high school students and inspire the next generation of surveyors.
😎😎😎 WHAT WE'LL DO 😎😎😎
As student volunteers, our role is to help the high school students through the activities and help ourselves to the FREE LUNCH 🥪.
We'll not only get to show students how to use the total stations to take measurements, but also chat with them about our experiences as surveying students.
For the first years, this is a great opportunity to get your hands on some survey equipment and gain confidence in using them. There will be many other surveyors there to help you!

Dear UNSW Surveying Students, we’re excited to announce that Surveying Unleashed is back in 2025, and we’re looking for passionate volunteers to join us in delivering another memorable experience for students exploring a future in surveying.

If you’ve supported us in the past — thank you! We’d love to welcome you back. And if this would be your first time volunteering at one of our events, we’d be thrilled to have you onboard.
Below are the details for the day:
Location Strathfield Golf Course - Weeroona Rd, 52, Strathfield, Australia
Date - Monday, 26th May 2025
Volunteer Arrival Time Please arrive by 8:15 AM to meet the Surveying Careers team. We'll run through the day’s schedule and your group allocations together before students arrive. What you will be helping with

You’ll be supporting experienced surveyors as they lead groups of students through engaging activities. Each volunteer will be paired with a group to help manage and guide students through their experience.

Activities will include: Laser Scanning / UAV Satellite Surveying and remote sensing Cadastral Surveying As a volunteer, you'll: Support the lead surveyor during activities Assist with group transitions and timing Encourage student engagement and help field their questions After lunch, we’ll be indoors for more activities and more structured discussions. The day concludes at 3:30 PM, and there will be plenty of opportunities to connect with students and professionals throughout.
