The Islamic Society at Leeds University is a platform for students

to gather and participate in social and educational activities, as well as providing a united voice in expressing views and aspirations of the Muslim student community of the University. The primary aim of the Islamic Society is to create an atmosphere at the university where Muslim students can thrive. The Islamic Society like any other organisation, is a reflection of its membership - it is run by students for students. The Islamic Society is not there just for the select few students who want to get involved, but all Muslim students regardless of whether they are members. We make an effort to make sure our events and activities cater to all Muslims. We welcome everyone from different backgrounds, cultures and beliefs - You don't have to be Muslim to join OR come to any of our events. For more information please:

Some dangers are obvious.
Others are quieter. They sit in your thoughts, your fears, your anxieties.
The Quran doesn’t ignore either.
These short chapters are about protection, recognising what harms us, and figuring out where to turn when things feel overwhelming.

You repeat the same words every day.
Sometimes without thinking. Sometimes on autopilot.
But what if those verses are shaping how you see God, yourself, and the world around you?
Surah al-Fatiha isn’t repetition by accident.
It’s a daily conversation.
One that teaches you how to ask, how to hope, how to talk to God.

The Prophet (ﷺ) said, “Allah says: ‘I am just as My slave thinks I am, (i.e. I am able to do for him what he thinks I can do for him) and I am with him if He remembers Me.-“ (Bukhari 7405)

So learn the attributes of your Lord and ask from Him with sincere and unwavering belief that He will answer.

The last few days of Ramadhan will surely slip through our fingers before we realise, if we do not take the time to make sincere duaa.

The ISoc Committee have chosen some of the names of Allah swt that they have connected most to this Ramadhan + how they incorporate the names into their Duaa’s.

We pray you take inspiration from this list, and feel free to share below the names of Allah that are most beloved to you 👇🏻

Don’t feel disheartened if you wish you did more this Ramadhan for there is still ample opportunity for you to gain Allah swt ‘s mercy.
Aisha (RA) narrated:

“When the last ten nights began, the Holy Prophet (Pbuh) tightened his waist-belt, spent the night in worship and woke his family up.” (Bukhari 1174)

Spend the last week in deep reflection, constant dhikr and seek to attain God consciousness throughout your day. All actions can be an elevated to a source of Ajr, if only you intend them to please Allah swt.

Swipe through and incorporate this Duaa’s in your routine 🤍
