It’s only £3, open to everyone whether studying the course or not, and best of all a chance to meet like-minded people. Over the course of the year we will be arranging several events which include:

- Bar crawls and regular socials
- Cinema trips
- Academic help & support
- Guest lecturers, networking with media industry professionals
- End of year ball
- Trips to BBC, Leicester Mercury, Harry Potter Studios, Pinewood Studios and many more!!!

Elections for the Media and Communications committee are now live until Wednesday 19th June at 4pm so please make sure that you vote!

Select the 'Media and Communications Society Elections' and then log into the page with your login details. From there you can cast your vote to elect the next committee for the society.

As a reminder, you must be a SMAC member to cast your vote or else it will not be counted.

Details of the new committee will be announced later this week.

We are coming to the end of the year and it’s time to have elections for the next committee for the Media and Communications society!

All the roles will undergo an election, meaning there are seven roles for members to apply for if they wish:

President – oversees the committee

Vice President – helps the President and attends meetings

Treasurer – responsible for finances

Secretary – record and distribute meeting minutes

Publicity Officer – in charge of raising awareness, marketing and communications to members

Social Secretary – organising social activities

Events Officer – organising educational trips, orchestrating visits and conferences

In order to put yourself forward for a role, you must email ([email protected]) stating which role you would like to nominate yourself for, a description of why you want the role, what experience (if any) you have and what you would bring to the role. This should be approximately 200 words long.

You have until midnight Sunday to submit this, with elections taking place next week – there will be another email sent out for this.

There will be an email sent out tomorrow as well letting you guys know about committee elections, so check your inbox!
