The first Liverpool Irish St Patrick's Day Parade since the late 1960s took place in March 1994, marking the return of a proud tradition to the city's streets after more than two decades.

Pictured here outside the Old Irish Centre on Mount Pleasant, participants proudly carry the banner for the Liverpool Irish Community Festival as the parade makes its way through the city. The parade was led by a marching band from County Monaghan, bringing the sights and sounds of Ireland back to Liverpool and celebrating the city's rich Irish heritage. 🇮🇪

On Saturday 18th July, the James Larkin Society Liverpool will be holding a city centre parade, led by 3 marching bands, to commemorate the 90th anniversary of the Spanish Civil War & to remember the Anti-Fascist Volunteers of the International Brigade.

We will march to honour the 200+ Merseyside Volunteers, who fought so bravely in Spain against the Fascist threat to humanity. Their memory and the historic lessons of those times, have never been more relevant, as we again face the dangerous rise of the Far Right. The parade will assemble 1.30pm on Hope Street (next to the Casa Bar).

Trade Union & International solidarity banners welcome.

Join us on 18th July!
