Manning's Tutors

Manning's Tutors Manning's Tutors is a multi award winning tuition provider that focuses on delivering engaging and expert tuition to the pupils across the UK

Founded in 2008, Manning’s Tutors Ltd is a private tuition agency working throughout Greater London. We currently have a team of 140 handpicked, DBS checked (previously called CRB) tutors, who cover approximately 200 lessons per week, both privately and in schools. Why chose Manning’s Tutors? Unlike other agencies, Manning’s personally interviews every tutor before hiring them to ensure they are approachable, likeable and enthusiastic about their subject. Regular meet ups throughout their employment promotes a sense of community amongst our tutors and enables Manning’s to continually develop and provide quality services for parents, schools and students. About our tutors
A student who is engaged with their teacher will learn far more than one who doesn't and finds it a chore. Therefore, Manning’s only recruits tutors who are recent graduates, or still in further education. Each tutor is personally interviewed and has to pass a DBS check (previously called CRB) before they are hired. As recent University graduates, all our tutors are familiar with the current syllabus and are sympathetic to the educational pressures on today’s children. They promote a contemporary method of teaching which is fresh and engaging, avoiding old fashioned methods which can cause students to switch off. Our tutors cover all subjects at all levels from KS2 (Year 3, 4 and 5) right up to KS5 (Sixth form) and University STEP entrance exams. Subjects include, but are not limited to, Maths, English Literature, English Language, Biology, Chemistry, Physics, French, German, Spanish, History, Geography, Business studies, Economics, Art History, Sociology, Psychology and Health and Social Care. The results
Since working with the students of Paddington Academy the number of pupils achieving 5 A*-C GCSE grades, including Maths and English has risen from 24% to 83%. To add to this, the Academy's Contextual Value Added (CVA) increased from 977 to 1072 - making it forth in the country.

We’re pleased to have launched a new tuition programme with Fulston Manor School in Kent, providing dedicated 1-to-1 Maths support for students in Years 8–11.

Through individual tuition, students have the opportunity to work at a pace that suits them, focus on areas where they need additional support and build greater confidence in their Maths skills.

For students approaching their GCSEs, this can also provide valuable targeted support with key topics, exam preparation and areas of the curriculum they may find particularly challenging.

We’re delighted to be working with Fulston Manor School and look forward to supporting their students throughout the programme.

AI is changing the graduate jobs market, but that does not mean students should abandon technical subjects.

The latest data highlighted in the Guardian University Guide 2027 shows that the proportion of computer science graduates entering coding or programming roles fell from 40% to 28% in a year. The Guardian reports that AI may be one factor reshaping entry-level opportunities, alongside wider changes in the graduate labour market.
The more useful lesson for A-Level students is to think about balance.

Strong technical knowledge still matters, but so do the skills that are harder to automate: critical thinking, creativity, communication, judgement and problem-solving. Recent careers analysis also points towards adaptability rather than trying to identify one supposedly “AI-proof” profession.

That could mean combining subjects in ways that build different strengths, for example Maths alongside an essay-based subject, sciences alongside Psychology, or technical subjects alongside creative ones. The exact combination should still be guided by the student’s strengths, interests and any university course requirements.

The goal is not to guess the one perfect career for 10 years’ time. It is to build a broad enough skill set to keep options open as technology changes.

For students choosing A-Levels now, that may be the most future-proof strategy of all.

Every young person deserves the opportunity to move forward with their education, regardless of how long they may have been away from the classroom.

We’re proud to be supporting Nottingham Local Authority with alternative provision, helping students who may have been out of education for several years to re-engage with learning and work towards meaningful qualifications.

For these young people, alternative provision can provide an important route back into education. With individualised support, achievable goals and the right relationships in place, students can begin rebuilding confidence, developing their skills and recognising what they are capable of.

The goal goes beyond gaining qualifications. It is about helping young people prepare for their next chapter — developing the knowledge, confidence and practical skills they need to progress towards further education, training and ultimately the workplace.
For students who have experienced significant gaps in their education, progress may look different for everyone. What matters is creating a pathway that is realistic, supportive and focused on a positive future.

We’re delighted to play a part in helping Nottingham’s young people take those next steps.

AI is changing the way pupils learn — and, used thoughtfully, it can be an incredibly useful tool.

It can provide opportunities for extra practice, generate ideas, explain concepts in different ways and offer immediate feedback. For pupils who need to revisit something several times, or who benefit from approaching a topic from a different angle, that can be particularly valuable.

But learning is about far more than simply getting the right answer.

A good tutor notices when a pupil has lost confidence. They recognise when “I understand” actually means “I’m still not quite sure”. They know when to explain something again, when to ask another question, when to challenge a pupil and when they simply need some encouragement.

Human mentoring also helps pupils develop skills that extend beyond the subject itself: confidence, resilience, communication, independence and the ability to keep going when learning becomes difficult.

AI can support that relationship, but it cannot replace it.

At Manning’s Tutors, we believe the most effective use of technology is alongside skilled, thoughtful human support — giving pupils useful tools while keeping genuine relationships at the heart of learning.

Technology can help pupils learn. People help pupils grow.

Summer learning doesn’t always look like sitting at a desk. ☀️

Over the holidays, children are learning all the time — often without even realising it.
Whether they’ve worked out how to build something, tried again when something didn’t go to plan, explored somewhere new or tackled an everyday challenge, they’ve been developing valuable skills along the way.

This summer, your child may have:

💡 Solved problems
🌱 Built confidence
🔎 Explored and discovered

These everyday experiences all help children become more curious, independent and confident learners.

What has your child learned or discovered this summer? 👇

Artificial intelligence is becoming an increasingly familiar part of education. Whether children are using ChatGPT, Microsoft Copilot, Google Gemini or another AI-powered assistant, many pupils now have access to tools that can explain concepts, answer questions and support revision within seconds. For many families, this raises important questions.

Is AI helping children become better learners, or is it making it easier to avoid genuine learning?
