His Majesty King Charles III is LSHTM's new patron, heralding a new chapter in our longstanding royal connection.

The announcement continues a relationship that spans generations. For nearly 70 years, this role was held by HRH Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh, whose support left a lasting legacy on .

Royal patronages help to highlight and support organisations that drive impact. The Kingโ€™s move to become our royal patron marks an exciting opportunity to further engage around shared priorities, particularly in sustainability and global health.

Professor Liam Smeeth, the Director of the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine, said: โ€œIโ€™m delighted that His Majesty has chosen to be our patron. It means a great deal to LSHTM to have his support, and continue our longstanding connection with the Royal Family.

โ€œAmong other things, the King is a committed advocate for action for a sustainable future. We look forward to engaging with him about our work in research and education to help create a more healthy, sustainable and equitable world.โ€
