Eleven scientists from the Department of Life Sciences are currently taking part in the New Scientist Live event at London’s ExCeL Centre until 1 October.

The team will be demonstrating, and sharing activities across a wide range of specialist areas including human ageing, brain modelling, drug discovery, antibiotic resistance, synthetic biology, DNA sequencing and Cancer Biology discovery.

Eleven scientists from the Department of Life Sciences in the Faculty of Science and Technology will take part in the New Scientist Live event from 28 September to 1 October at London’s ExCeL Centre.

Dr Sterghios Moschos, whose research began at Westminster and continued at Northumbria University, has made an Ebola Virus breakthrough.

The former Westminster academic is part of a team of researchers who have developed a quicker and easier way of detecting the Ebola virus, which caused over 11,000 deaths in West Africa in 2014.
