This year we are supporting the International Creative Research Methods Conference!

The conference explores all things Creative Research Methods, with a series of workshops, performances and discussions bringing together a community of researchers from around the world.

We have a shared goal of convening a network of researchers and practitioners who embed Creative Methods into their work.

Last chance to view in the Samuel Alexander Glass Corridor: Irrepressible – celebrating 20 years of the Morgan Centre

📍 Glass Corridor Exhibition Space, Samuel Alexander Building. Open to the public 9am – 5pm, weekdays

Irrepressible celebrates 20 years of the Morgan Centre, which explores the relational nature of social life as experienced in the everyday with unruly imagination, curiosity and an inventive openness to interdisciplinary approaches.

Combining research and original artwork from projects across the last 20, including panels from the AirSpace and Teenage Kicks research projects. The exhibition was launched on 1 July with an event which included a poetry reading from Lexie Davis and craft activities. Videos from Morgan Centre researchers will also be on display in the Samuel Alexander South Foyer throughout the exhibition.

🎭 The Cultural Welcome is back from 5 - 11 October, giving students the chance to discover the rich arts, culture and heritage of the Oxford Road Corridor. Creative Manchester is excited to be part of this year’s programme with a special exhibition launch and panel event on 8 October in the Samuel Alexander Glass Corridor, celebrating Black Theatre History Month 2026.

Presented in collaboration with the Drama Department, the event will launch A History of Black Theatre in Manchester 1827–2020: Celebrating presence, exploring the artistry and entrepreneurship of people of African and Afro-Caribbean descent in theatre and performance in Manchester.

Come along to visit the exhibition, hear from curators, academics and artists, and if you’re a student bring your student ID to enjoy a special treat for students.
