Have you ever heard about the Christmas Cracker?
It is a paper tube wrapped in different colours and designs and twisted on both ends. Nowadays, it comes with small gifts, a joke and a paper crown👑
Back in 1846, the Christmas cracker was a sugar almond wrapped in beautiful paper and twisted on both sides, but as the years have gone by this idea has been modified. Usually, as seen in the image, two people pull it on each side so that the exciting goodies can fall out! 🎊

Meet our Alumni, Shaun!
While studying engineering at Newcastle University, Shaun volunteered with a charity that built a earthquake-resistant house in Lombok, Indonesia, which was hit by a massive earthquake in 2018.
"Helping people there was just a dream for me as an engineer"
Shaun studied Science, Computing, Engineering and Mathematics pathway programme with INTO Newcastle back in 2013/14, then progressed to Newcastle University, majored in Civil Engineering.
Now, Shaun works as a brigde engineer in Southampton.
