Our end-of-year celebrations rolled on in style as the UoN Catering team absolutely smashed it at Ancaster and Nightingale, serving up melt-in-the-mouth brisket and a mouth-watering selection of smokehouse favourites. Paired with a fantastic range of summer cocktails, it was the perfect recipe for an unforgettable evening.

Students threw themselves into the Wild West-themed activities, bringing plenty of energy and excitement to the night. We also captured some incredible aerial shots and fantastic halls photos, showcasing the atmosphere and community spirit on display.

And the celebrations aren’t over yet — the fun continues tomorrow as we head to two more halls on University Park for another evening of great food, entertainment and memories in the making! 🎉🤠🌟

Another first for ResX! We partnered with the brand-new to organise a padel coaching session and tournament. You had the chance to try out the sport that’s taking the world by storm. It was a great way to take a break from revision, enjoy some friendly competition, and have a fantastic time.

Tonight we hosted the very first ResX Cheese & Wine Tasting Evening 🍷🧀

Students joined us for an evening of great conversation, delicious cheeses and expertly paired wines, led by our brilliant sommelier and cheese specialist. From learning the difference between a Merlot and a Pinot to discovering the perfect pairings, it was a chance to try something new in a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere.

A truly sophisticated evening filled with laughter, good company and a little bit of luxury in the middle of a exam season. ✨

WOW — what an incredible day at University Park! ☀️🎉
We made the most of the glorious weather with axe throwing 🪓, FREE food 🍕, adorable pygmy goats 🐐 and the alpacas were back stealing the show 🦙💛

It was amazing to see so many of you come along to chill out, take a break from revision and enjoy the sunshine with friends 🌼

What an unreal way to start the long weekend ✨

Thanks to the amazing students got exclusive early access to the Luminarium before it officially opened — and it did not disappoint 🌈

From glowing colours and soft lights to incredible moving shadows, the whole experience felt completely immersive and was the perfect escape from exam stress and revision 📚➡️✨

Our creative spirits blossomed this week with a flurry of heart-warming crafts for Valentine’s day! 💕 🫶

We unleashed our inner cupids as we dove into a range of hands-on activities. We illuminated Valentine's by personalising ceramic lanterns 🕯, decorated bespoke mugs and trinket boxes, and finally, we spread the love with the creation of Valenkinds cards 💌.

The undisputed highlight of the week was, of course, our Spring Formals! Each hall took on a life of its own with distinct themes ranging from the elegant 'Cupid’s Masquerade' 🎭💘 featuring live music performances, to the high-energy 'Retro Disco' 🕺🎶 and the classic casino fun of 'Hearts and Heists' 🃏♦️♣️. It was the perfect opportunity to dress up, take a break from study, and celebrate with your hall community.

In addition to the festivities, we hosted a meaningful doughnut decorating event to raise awareness for CoppaFeel! and OddBalls. This session proved that creativity can be a powerful tool for advocacy, allowing students to engage with important health causes in a fun and interactive environment. 🍩

This week was all about celebrating the spirit of competition and alpine energy with Winter Olympics Week! ❄️🏆

We kicked things off by bringing the games to your doorstep, hosting a series of events designed to help you step away from your desk and channel your inner champion. Students gathered their friends for the ultimate campus-wide trek across University Park and Jubilee, visiting every hall to fill trail cards with stamps and pockets with sweets. Between the retro games and photo ops, it was the perfect chance to discover hidden corners of the university before handing in those cards for a shot at our prize draw. 🎁

The creativity continued with our bespoke workshops, where you designed custom glassware at our Pint Glass Decorating session and crafted your own gear at our DIY Sports Team Hat workshop. 🍺

To round off the week, we officially relaunched our Q***r Café following its incredible success last year. This dedicated space provided the perfect atmosphere for LGBTQIA+ students and allies to chat, socialise, and build community. 🏳️‍🌈
