Vocational Rehabilitation can be defined as helping people who have never worked find work or vocational activities, or supporting those with a health condition to return or remain in work. This is an online distance learning programme suitable for those already working in this area or looking to develop skills.

SOAR has an exciting vacancy in our Health Team for:

Emotional Wellbeing – Advocacy Worker

Full-time: 37 hours flexible hours
Salary: £19,805 - £21,598
Initial fixed 18 months (extension dependent on funding).

KEY TERMS & CONDITIONS:
25 days holiday, 1 day birthday leave & 8% non-contributory pension.
Clinical supervision provided

• SOAR is a living wage employer and seeks to uprate salaries by the annual increase in the living wage

The post holder will undertake a key role in the operational delivery of SOARs Social Prescribing Service, namely to;

• provide independent short to medium term support to clients with low-moderate mental health issues referred by GP practices in the North 2 Neighbourhood*,
• co-ordinate and broker access to a range of medical and non-medical services,
• facilitate an enabling approach with referred clients to enhance their emotional wellbeing,
• develop close working partnerships with health, social care, housing and voluntary, community or faith (VCF) organisations.
*Note: Emotional Wellbeing action research project developed (& funded) in partnership with North 2 Neighbourhood. Participating GP Practices; Page Hall Medical Centre, Pitsmoor Surgery and Shiregreen Medical Centre.

We have run a 2 days course for Working Links around supporting people with long term health conditions into work, and have been down to London to work with GP receptionists in Lewisham around care navigation signposting skills.
