Welcome to the official page of the humorously named PsychoS at the University of Sheffield! We exist to unite all Sheffield Uni Psychology Students and those interested in psychology, and organise great events/socials on your behalf! In the past we’ve run a variety of socials and events, including:

*3rd Year Dissertation Hand-In Party! On top of this, every year we hold our Psychology Ball, a great night with a three course meal, drinks and dancing with all the fantastic people you’ll get to know at uni. Last year it was at Kenwood Halll, Sheffield and was a great success! With your help we plan to make this year the best yet, with so many more socials, volunteering opportunities (to boost your psychological CV!), the possibility of another trip abroad planned and participation in inter-departmental football and netball competitions! All we need is YOU! Membership is a steal at just £5 for 2012/13, or £11 if you buy a 3-year membership. Your membership card will not only get you discounted tickets to all PsychoS socials, but also various discounts outside of the department, like cheap food at local outlets and with our sponsors! So it's well worth the investment, just don't lose your membership card! Basically we want you to have as much fun as is physically possible, so if you’re game for a laugh then get involved! VOLUNTEERING: We’re a caring bunch here at PsychoS, and a proportion of all the money we make over the year goes to a chosen charity. For 2012/13 we have selected:

Action Duchenne is a national charity that aims to find a cure for Duchenne, a severe genetic muscle wasting disease. The condition affects mainly boys and without treatment most of these young men are completely paralysed by their early teens and die by their late teens or early 20s. This year we will not only be donating money from ticket sales, but will also be offering everyone the opportunity to volunteer and join us in fundraising efforts for the charity.
