Peter Butt writes:
This is probably my 5th and final book. I was invited to join my wife, daughter and granddaughter for a mother’s day meal last year. During the meal I shared one of the many stories of amusing incidents we have experienced over our many years of travelling on mission to the nations. My daughter suggested they should be written down as it would a shame if they were lost to future generations. My immediate reaction was to reject this thought and carry on with life, 75 is not the write or even right
age to think about writing another book.
However, meditating on this idea and linking it with raising finance for mission led to the production of “A Time to Laugh”.
I have raised the money for printing the book so that all the proceeds from sales goes directly to support missions. Every penny goes to the work of the Kingdom in the nations. Several of my ministry friends have made contributions to the book and I trust it will make you laugh!

They came from all over West Africa to be at the SOM-Pioneer conference in Kumasi, Ghana. We were deeply moved by the growth of SOM thorough out the region: 765 students trained in our schools (345 in French) We thank you Jesus- we are deeply grateful.

SOM conference March 23
Wrapped in scarves ,hats, duvet coats, and woolly jumpers, they came from their warm countries to the SOM gathering in the middle of a cold English winter, to Central Hall. The fire of Spirit joined Africa, India, Costa Rica and others with all the support from the UK. Warming our hearts, challenging our minds and drawing us together in purpose and unity.
The quality of the SOM modules is a testament to the SOM work. Throughout the world, people's lives have been enriched, ministry has been released and those with no access to quality leadership and bible teaching, have been trained.

Peter Butt: I met Clive and Mary Beckenham 50 years ago. We connected again 25 years ago when they established a home for abandoned babies in Nairobi, Kenya. They were in Windsor Castle this week to receive an MBE from King Charles for their work. They also began to partner with SOM and through Barnabas Ministries they trained many leaders in various centres throughout Kenya. Peter and Anne Chege continue that work. We rejoice with them and honour them for their sacrificial service to Jesus our King.

Exciting times in Masaka SOM centre in Uganda

I am so grateful to God for the 4th graduation of Masaka SOM centre Uganda. 46 leaders have today graduated with Diplomas. The Holy Spirit have taken over the ceremony and commissioned them for the greater work of His kingdom. We're excited to witness God's doing in our day. Thank for your prayers we have seen them working.

SOM Rakai ended up 2 weeks of intensive Learning. We covered 4 modes
1 Second coming,
2 Common issues.
3 Discovering the will of God.
4 Leading small groups.
We also gave out certificates to those who had completed 8 modules.

Betunduzi ( Western Uganda))School of Ministries goes from strength with Ben Tumwebaze teaching this week on SOM Modules "Common issues and Leading Small Groups" We are encouraged by Pastor Ben's continued work in western Uganda.
We pray that he will be filled with the Holy Spirit and Power as he teaches next week on the "Second Coming of Christ". The pictures show 31students attending SOM Betunduzi, with some students receiving certificates for completing 8 modules. Truly great work !

Such great news to hear of School of Ministries in Kissidougou Guinea. West Africa, taking great strides in developing SOM. Please, pray for them as Kissidougou has powerfully grasped the vision. We thank Andrew Lendor for his Pioneering work in Guinea
The teacher is pastor Jean Tamba Tolno. Senior pastor at CHURCH OF PENTECOST, Kissidougou.
There are 58 Students in all but 25 are regular.
They are doing PROPHECY.
Students represent 12 dominations/ministries.

Feedbacks are great. Non of the students have been to a Bible School before. SOM is the first Bible School they're attending. The students go out for evangelism every Tuesday.

Successful Mission to Bolgatanga from Andrew Lendor West Africa Director
Truly the Lord has opened another door to equip men and women for the harvest in the north of Ghana, a Muslim dominated region. There was so much excitement as most of the brethren literally discovered their ministries for the first time. The first day was a bit challenging, as some could not understand the video presentation. However, with the help of local interpreters, the rest of the days were exciting.
All 43 students have formally registered to continue the program. For most of them, this is the first time they are attending a Bible school. Four pastors, including the centre leader, have volunteer to teach the modules

Peter Butt Founder of School of Ministries.

After founding and leading SOM for nearly 25 years, Peter Butt has stepped out of the SOM Director role, although he will still remain very much part of the SOM team. To recognise and celebrate Peter’s huge contribution to the ministry of SOM we recently held a special celebration event in Central Hall, Southampton. Nearly 60 key partners and supporters from the UK were able to come together for this time of appreciating Peter and Irene, as well as looking to the future. Because of Covid none of our international partners were able to attend but some sent videos sharing their stories of Peter and Irene. The celebration was followed by a wonderful meal provided by some of the SOM team.
We are all immensely grateful to the Lord for how He has called and anointed Peter in his role as SOM Director and are so glad that he continues the SOM story with us into the future

Bishop Chris Kapito has now established 2 Schools in Malawi in districts Zomba Jali and Mulanje Limbuli They are working their way through the SOM Modules. We look forward to hearing more from Malawi as this work gathers pace.
