Car parks very busy this morning as there is a football tournament on.

Allow extra time to get parked, you might be a bit away from the start by the time you find a space.

🅿🚨PARKING ALERT 🚨🅿

Please note that there is an event on at the same time as the parkrun this week (13th June) and the campus is expected to be very busy. There will be lots of additional cars 🛻🛻🛻 from around 8 o'clock (ie before parkrun) and parking will be limited.

Please allow for additional time to find a parking space or - better yet - use public transport 🚌🚐🚉🚄 or alternative means of getting there🚴‍♀🚴🏃‍♀️🏃🏼‍♂️

As last week's award 🎖️ nomination showed (we'll be milking this for a while), our parkrun creates a welcoming community 🧑‍🤝‍🧑 🤗 for volunteers. It would be great if a whole lot of you were to be convinced to experience this on Saturday!

Event #272 6th June: What a team!

Thanks to everyone who helped to make event #272 a success. I don't think I have ever seen a team of volunteers more worthy of a trophy. 💫 Two voluntourists, both visiting us for the first time, deserve special mention. Our park walker Sally Hewitt was picking up the U to complete her FOURTH parkrun alphabet! 🤯 And our funnel manager Alan Stewart kept everything running so smoothly at the finish I barely needed to do anything as RD. Five stars, 100% recommend, would roster again any time! 😊

Earlier this week, some of us from the UoS parkrun team attended the Stirlingshire Inspire Volunteering Awards ceremony, held as part of National Volunteers Week. University of Stirling parkrun had been shortlisted for the prestigious Lord Provost Award in recognition of the community created around our volunteer team. We had a great time at the ceremony and were presented with a lovely trophy as finalists! 🏆🥂 Thank you to all of our amazing volunteers for making UoS parkrun the incredible community that it is. We also now have a complete roster for tomorrow 🎉 so you might just get a chance to see our shiny new trophy if you are joining us. 👀😁
