I Began Researching My Own Family History Around 10 Years Ago At The Age Of 12, After Hearing Many Family Stories From My Great-Grandmother, Joan Green, Who Is The Namesake Of This Business.

Joan Green was born as Joan Gertrude Idiens, in Handsworth, Birmingham on 26th July 1923 and passed away on 1st July 2018 in Birmingham, at the age of 94. At the time of her passing, she had 4 children, 11 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, and 8 great-great-grandchildren.

In May 2020, during lockdown, I decided to start helping others with their own family histories and have developed a trusted customer base, some of those reviews can be seen on this website. I have connected people with their biological families and re-united others that had lost touch for over 50 years.

While doing this work, I keep my great grandmother, Joan in my mind throughout every little bit of research I do.

Remembrance Sunday 🇬🇧

— A lot of you today, will be remembering a loved one who fought in either the First World War or the Second World War, maybe both. A few of you may be remembering more than one person.

Today, I am thinking of my great grandfather Charles Norman Green. Luckily he survived WWII, I even got to meet him once. Today, I will be remembering his bravery as he served as a rear gunner in a Lancaster bomber with No 9 Squadron of the RAF, Lonesome Lola, I think the aircraft was called.

I will also be thinking of my 3x great uncles, William Gray (served with the Black Watch) & William MacDonald (served with the Cameron Highlanders). They both unfortunately lost their lives in World War I. I will remember them.

RIP to all of the fallen soldiers who did not make it home, to all of the ones who have passed on over time. We remember you. we remember your bravery.

In Flanders fields the poppies blow

Between the crosses, row on row,

That mark our place; and in the sky

The larks, still bravely singing, fly

Scarce heard amid the guns below. ❤️🇬🇧❤️

This is a picture of Upper Oakfield in Kelty, Fife. This is where my great grandfather, George Paterson Patrick was born. The cottage that he was born in was called Acorn Cottage. He grew up here with his siblings; Euphemia, Christina, Isabella, Ann, John, Mary, James & Janet.

He was the youngest being born in 1910. Janet being born in 1907, James - 1905, Mary - 1902, John - 1900, Ann - 1898, Isabella - 1896, Christina - 1894 & the oldest, Euphemia being born in 1892.

If you find this interesting, feel free to message me to discover your history! 😁 🧬
