WS100 scholars are on stand out form. 🔥

🏑 Scotland's women's hockey squad have qualified for the FIH World Cup for the first time since 2002! Congratulations to WS100 scholars Jessica Ross Martin (University of Strathclyde), Bronwyn Shields (University of Stirling) & Ruth Blaikie (Edinburgh Napier University) who were part of the incredible qualifiers in India.

🏏 Huge well done to Nayma Sheikh (Glasgow Caledonian University) who has been selected to compete for the women's European Associate Members team against the Marylebone Cricket Club. The promising young player is one of three top Scots who will take on the unique challenge of playing as part of combined European XIs team in London.

🚴 Good luck to triathlete Alex Robin (University of Stirling) who is lining up for his first ever World Cup race this weekend, taking on a strong field in China! This is a big moment for the sport in Scotland, marking the first time the National Triathlon Centre has sent an athlete to the World Cup for a number of years.

A terrific achievement. 👏

Scotland's student-athletes have shone and inspired on the world stage at the 2026 Winter Olympics – and now all eyes turn to the Winter Paralympic Games! ❄️🔥

🥌 Curling: Huge congratulations to alumni within the men’s curling team for securing a hard-fought silver medal. We are equally proud of Jennifer Dodds and Sophie Sinclair for their fierce competition and skill representing Team GB on the ice.

⛷️ Freestyle Skiing: Current scholar Chris McCormick made an incredible Olympic debut. He showed true grit by battling through an injury to compete against the best in both Big Air and Slopestyle.

⛸️ Figure Skating: Alumni Luke Digby showed immense poise on the rink, delivering a spectacular season-best performance in the figure skating pairs alongside his partner.

Now, we're all set for the Winter Paralympic Games!

Join us in cheering on current and past WS100 athletes Neil Simpson, Scott Meenagh, Alistair Hall (guiding Hester Poole), and Adam Hall (guiding Sam Cozens) as they represent Team GB.

Good luck from all of us at Winning Students 100.
