FALLEN TREE - ROAD CLOSED

A large tree has come down on Henderson Street this evening between the dairy entrance and the Kenilworth Road junction. Several vehicles have been caught up in the incident. Our thoughts are very much with the occupants of those vehicles and with everyone who witnessed what must have been a frightening scene.

This latest fall in Bridge of Allan highlights once again the serious concerns in the community about the condition of a number of trees in and around the town. Recent storms are clearly taking their toll. Regardless of who owns the land or the trees, we urge Stirling Council to treat this as a priority issue.

At a packed public meeting held by the Community Council last month, residents were unanimous in their view that urgent action is needed to identify high risk trees and to make them safe before someone is seriously injured. We will keep residents updated as we learn more.

In addition to a local Yellow Alert for heavy rain over the next few days, the Met Office has issued a wider Yellow and Amber Alert for strong winds over parts of Scotland.

⚠️WELL ROAD USERS (Road and footpath)⚠️
Please take extra care if using the rising part of Well Road after its junction with Alexander Drive on Tuesday 9 and Wednesday 10 December. This is due to dead and diseased ash trees, and falling branches from a large oak tree. A report was submitted to Stirling Council 66 days ago. The local authority has confirmed it will only act once a tree has fallen and only if it lands on the road (not on property, they wouldn't say if that includes people). No action will be taken in advance to make the area safe - please be very careful, one tree has already come down and the others are in a perilous state!.

Bridge of Allan’s Spar is now open on Henderson Street 🎉 Wishing Chevy and Sajeevan the very best of luck!. The new Post Office will open at the end of December, we can’t wait!. Here is a little fly-through of the shop. The shop signage will be installed this week coming with next Friday seeing the official opening party take place. We were delighted to capture Bridge of Allan Community Council Chair, Amanda Coulthard who had stopped in for some delicious milk from - local all the way!.

PUBLIC MEETING – NEXT MONDAY!

Bridge of Allan Community Council is holding a special public meeting to discuss the ownership, condition, and maintenance of the strip of land between Henderson Street and Well Road.

🗓 Monday 17 November
🕖 7.00 – 8.00 pm
📍 Allan Centre

The land is currently unclaimed, with several dangerous trees affected by ash dieback, rot, and neglect. One has already fallen crushing a car and putting people & property at risk.

We need residents’ voices at the table. This is your chance to help shape how the issue is handled and ensure accountability.

As the Wallace Monument watches on, the beautiful display lights the sky over Bridge of Allan. Thousands gathered at Strathallan Games Park for this year’s fireworks display, organised by the Round Table, in support of local good causes. The night was filled with colour, music, and that unmistakable village atmosphere that makes Bridge of Allan so special.

This isn’t a joke post… another one! 🙈

It’s time to look at the safety of road users, cyclists, and pedestrians on Henderson Street. Regardless of the causes or who’s to blame, the street is clearly unsafe at this time!.

Bridge Of Allan Community Council has been petitioned to hold a meeting on specific safety concerns on Henderson Street. It may be time to expand that to include safety in general.

🚨 EMERGENCY UPDATE 🚨 A vehicle has left the road on Henderson Street and hit a wall behind the retirement houses on Station Road. The bridge remains closed and the traffic is substantial. Police are asking drivers to avoid the area.
