Check out the special edition in BMC Family Practice on the impact of comorbidity and multimorbidity in Primary Care - with research from members of the Mental Health Research Group featured! Well done Shula Baker and co-authors Carolyn Chew-Graham, John McBeth and Ross Wilkie https://www.biomedcentral.com/collections/multimorbidityinprimarycare

Reflecting on a fantastic Primary Care Mental Health conference yesterday... 'Ethics: a friend of research' was the theme of the day, Prof. Sumathipala set the tone with his opening talk and reflections on ethics in research. Followed by Jonathan Ives, who drilled down into those taken-for-granted assumptions around the unspoken individual and social obligations of research participation. Further highlights included parallel sessions delivered by: Dr Lisa Dikomitis, Dr Buddhika Lalani Fernando, Annabelle Machin, Alice Moult and Dr Saeed Farooq. A breaking news section with a first look at results from trials: CASPERplus (Dr Dean McMillan) MIR Trial (Dr David Kessler) and SCIMITAR (Prof Simon Gilbody). Congratulations to our prize winners: Nadine Mirza (best presentation), Yumna Masood (best poster) and Abigail Taylor (best abstract). All wrapped up on time by our excellent chair: Prof. Chew-Graham. Over to University of Southampton for 2018!!

Our poster on metaphors for medically unexplained symptoms survived the plane ride, folded up in my case, and proved extremely popular at the NAPCRG2016 annual conference. Didn't stop talking for the entire poster session! Lots of interest from family physicians, suggestions for collaborations, and invitations from editors to publish our work. Not bad.

Checking in at the NAPCRG 2016 annual conference in Colorado Springs. Couple of photos for you, enjoy!
