Our student paramedics are fortunate to have specialist sessions delivered by a range of academics, clinicians, scientists plus industry experts. Today saw our first year students having an introductory session and demonstration of scene safety at road traffic incidents and the roles of Fire Fighters and Staffordshire Fire and Rescue! Students across all years of the programme will have an opportunity to learn from our colleagues in Red!

You Said, We Did 💬

Students told us that getting to campus by bus in the morning was difficult, with not enough services and standing room only.

As a result, we have provided additional funding of £15,000, and in collaboration with the Students’ Union, two extra buses will now run to Keele every morning to help students get to campus more easily. Leaving Newcastle-under-Lyme bus station at 7.36am and 8.20am Monday-Friday, both buses will follow the usual 25 route from the bus station to the University.

We are thrilled to announce the winner of this year’s Stewart McLaughlin Scholarship is Usman Khan. The Stewart McLaughlin Scholarship was established in 2023. The scholarship, named after the father of Andy and Chris McLaughlin, co-owners of MIS Group and company founder, Stewart McLaughlin, covers accommodation costs for a paramedic science student in the first year of their studies. We are delighted with the ongoing generosity of the McLaughlin family. The scholarship has a real impact in supporting recipients though their studies.
