🏅Eli Adams - High Jumper 🏅
NOTAN was pivotal in my current high jump career as a young athlete. At the age of eight, it introduced me to the world of athletics and inspired me to join a running club. It was my first experience of competition, where points and trophies were awarded for first, second and third place.
It was also my first real experience of feeling proud and excited through sport. NOTAN gave me a taste of success and a sense of achievement that I wanted to experience again and again.
I owe NOTAN a huge thank you, as I’m not sure I would ever have discovered the world of athletics—and, in particular, high jump—if it hadn’t been for the event. It was the beginning of a journey that would become a very important part of my life.
That journey has taken me further than I could ever have imagined. This summer , at the age of 15, I qualified to represent Team GB and Northern Ireland at the U18 European Championships in Rieti, Italy. Looking back, it’s incredible to think that it all began at the age of eight, with my first experience of competition at NOTAN.
