Alcuin Chapter celebrated a very special milestone on Friday 25 September, as Companion Brian Watson (Concord Lodge 9553) marked 50 years as a member of the Royal Arch.

Brian was warmly congratulated by his fellow Companions, and the Most Excellent Grand Superintendent, Mark Iveson, presented him with a certificate in recognition of this remarkable achievement.

The occasion also offered a chance to reflect on Brian’s Royal Arch journey. He is pictured with E.Comp. Paul Darley, who proposed him into the Royal Arch, and with the Chapter’s Principals.

Brian is also a member of Concord Lodge, where Mark and Paul are fellow members. Concord Lodge joins Alcuin Chapter in sending Brian its warmest congratulations on this wonderful milestone.

Congratulations, Brian, on 50 years of companionship and commitment—an achievement made all the more special by celebrating it with friends.

⚔️ Invictus Lodge No. 9960 — A Special Meeting & Social Evening

Brethren, mark your diaries. Saturday 24th October is going to look nothing like a normal Lodge meeting.

The plan for the day:

🏛️ 1600 hrs – Lodge opens in the First Degree, followed by a Mental Health presentation from W.Bro Gary Calder. The Lodge then closes.

🏰 1700 hrs – We walk over together for a private guided tour of the Yorkshire Regiment Museum and Clifford's Tower.

🍛 1800 hrs – Festive Board at 29 States Indian Restaurant. Curry buffet, £25 per head, and the restaurant is booked exclusively for our Lodge for two hours.

🍺 Afterwards, it's into York for a few more beers with the Brethren.

A day of fellowship, learning, heritage and good company, exactly what Invictus is about.

Get your names in early, Brethren, this one's not to be missed.

👉 Contact your Lodge Secretary to confirm your place for the Festive Board.

Lodges working together at their very best

On Friday 20th February, brethren of Concord Lodge were delighted to support Invictus Lodge at a superbly attended family evening filled with pride and celebration.

It was a special night for the Rooney family, as Graham Rooney and Neil Rooney Jnr were both Passed to the Second Degree. Adding to the occasion, the ceremony featured Neil Rooney, father to Neil Jnr and brother to Graham, playing an active role, making it a truly memorable family milestone in Freemasonry.

Pictured after the ceremony are Graham and Neil Jnr with Concord Worshipful Master John Davison and APGMs Martin Eggermont and Mark Iveson and Past PGM Jeff Gillyon.

An excellent example of unity, support, and shared success, and a fantastic evening enjoyed by all.
