Contemporary science has long expanded beyond the walls of the particular laboratory or boundaries of a concrete country. Challenges facing the science today require the active involvement of young scientist. We are witnessing the achievements made in science in our daily lives, although many of us do not realize it. The idea of the Science Picnic is to answer these challenges by building a bridge
between the current scientists and future generations. Similar science popularization events take place annually worldwide. The experience has shown that the event enjoys growing popularity. Iliauni Science Picnic is based on the successful model of Polish Science Picnic of Polish Radio and the Copernicus Science Centre – Europe’s largest outdoor event dedicated to Science.
1st Iliauni Science Picnic was launched on 29th of September 2012 in Vake park. Interesting shows from various fields of science were presented by 43 scientific groups.
