A 17-year-old girl has given birth for his father, a 58-year-old mason known as Bledi at Kwabenya in Accra.
Reports indicate that the girl was asked by her mother to live with his father who constantly had s*xual in*******se with her leading to a pregnancy.
Investigation revealed that the victim went to the Ga East Hospital to deliver and had challenges with the payment of her medical bills. The intervention of the Social Welfare Department at the hospital led to the waiver of her bills. Further enquiries by a social worker as to who impregnated her forced the victim to disclose that her father was responsible.
The social worker then reported the case to the Kwabenya Domestic Violence and Victims' Support Unit and a Police medical report was issued for the victim to be examined at the hospital. Based on the report, the accused was arrested.
Bledi was arraigned before court and has been sentenced to 10 years imprisonment. What could be wrong with Bledi?

This is Madam Gold, a Nigerian. She is 32. She has been sentenced to 20 years imprisonment by the Tarkwa Circuit Court for spearheading prostitution.
Gold is said to have trafficked four young women from Nigeria to Ghana to engage in prostitution.
According to reports, she forcibly shaved the trafficked women's public hair, removed their fingernails, and made them swear an oath that if they failed to work as commercial s*x workers to repay the money she claimed to have spent on them, they would go mad.
Operating her business at Asankra-Moseaso, one of the women is reported to have contracted HIV/AIDS but she moved her to a different location to continue the work fearing she would not be patronised.
Madam Gold is also said to have forced the girls to drink concoctions to abort pregnancies. Are foreigners gradually topping the crime chart in Ghana?

Instead of enforcing the laws, Saani Abdulai, a police officer stationed at the Sakasaka Police Station in Tamale in the Northern Region has been caught for his alleged involvement in the sale of tramadol.
Saani explained that he entered the business due to financial difficulties.
He was arrested by a citizen-led Anti-Tramadol taskforce in Tamale who found about six boxes of the drug. He is said to be hiding 1,500 boxes.
It is sad that a Police officer whose duty is to help make society safe is rather adding to the rot.
