Ioannis Nikolis has been awarded the best violinist award from Maria Callas Awards Monaco with the patronage of His Serene Highness of Prince Albert ll of Monaco and the prize of the Global Vision Summit for his career in classical music. He is the prize winner of the London International Music Competition, AIM Awards Salzburg and New York International Music Competition. He represented Greece in the European Union Youth Orchestra, in RCOYoung and he has been accepted in the Gustav Mahler GMJO making world tours in the most famous venues such as Carnegie Hall New York, Het Concertgebouw Amsterdam, Konzerthaus Berlin, the ancient theatre of Delos Greece etc.
As a soloist he has collaborated with the City of Athens Symphony Orchestra, and he has participated in international festivals such as Molyvos International Music Festival, Ibiza Concert Festival, Talent Music Course Festival Brescia Italy, Mousa Chios Music Festival, Cyclades Festival, Syros International Music Festival, Naxos music days among others. Ioannis has participated in masterclasses and lessons with famous professors and soloists such as Pinchas Zukerman, Linus Roth, Ilya Grubert, Hrachya Harutyunyan, Itzhak Rashkovsky, Reiner Schmidt, Don Walerstein, Asi Matathias, Tosca Opdam, Jacqueline Ross, Isaac Malkin and Arndt Auhagen.
Ioannis has recently appeared as a guest star of George Perris concert, in the Pallas Theatre in Athens Greece and as a guest star in the Maria Callas Awards Gala in Venice collaborating with the famous soprano Christina Poulitsi. He has given recitals in the Milton Court, the Barbican Center in London, Philippos Nakas auditorium, Foundation of Arts Theocharakis, the Art Exhibition Center of Piraeus, Peiraikos Syndesmos Concert Hall, in venues of the Megaron Athens Concert Hall and in cultural centers of many municipalities around Greece.
Ioannis Nikolis grew up in a music family, he graduated from the National Conservatory of Athens Greece at the age of 15 with prizes and honors in Panagiotis Nikolis class. He continued his studies in the GSMD London UK with professor Jacqueline Ross, supported by the Athena Scholarship, the Guildhall Financial Prize and Somateio Eirini. He is currently a student of the German soloist Linus Roth.
