ing in 1989, has participated in technological research on a national and international level, particularly in areas related to networking and internet technology. The curriculum of the Department is designed to provide the students with the necessary theoretical and empirical knowledge to understand, perceive and appreciate economic phenomena, and at the same time to develop skills and intellectual qualities necessary for analysing and predicting them. Apart from the extended emphasis on courses in Economics the program is supported and enriched by a number of courses in Statistics, Matthematics, Business Administration, Money and Capital Markets and other courses. The graduates of the Department can be employed in the private and Public sectors as economic analysts, consultants and researchers. The Department of Economics offers a 4-year (8 semester) undergraduate program which leads to the B.Sc. At the 7th and 8th Semesters, apart from the compulsory subjects, students can choose elective subjects leading to three (3) specialised directions:

Industrial Economics
International & European Economics
Theaching methods include lectures, individual and team-work assignments, case-studies, seminars. The Department under the auspices of the University publishes an academic journal under the title "SPOUDAI" (=Studies) with a broad advisory committee and special referees.
