This is the official page of HKU Mentorship and is maintained by the HKU Mentorship Programme Office of The University of Hong Kong.

HKU Mentorship was established in 1997 and every year 500 pairs of Mentors (alumni and friends of HKU) and Mentees (HKU second-year undergraduates or exchange students) are matched. Understanding that relationships and interpersonal communications play a critical role in the education process, HKU Mentorship aims to create supportive one-to-one relationships based on teamwork and trust, often matching Mentees with Mentors of different educational backgrounds, resulting in the truly transformative, holistic development of the students.

These past sessions 𝗯𝗿𝗼𝘂𝗴𝗵𝘁 𝘁𝗼𝗴𝗲𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿 𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗲𝘀 𝗳𝗿𝗼𝗺 𝗱𝗶𝗳𝗳𝗲𝗿𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝘆𝗲𝗮𝗿𝘀, 𝗱𝗶𝗳𝗳𝗲𝗿𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗴𝗿𝗮𝗺𝗺𝗲𝘀, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗱𝗶𝗳𝗳𝗲𝗿𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗻𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗲𝘀. But what truly connected all of you was the same: 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗼𝗽𝗲𝗻𝗻𝗲𝘀𝘀 𝘁𝗼 𝗹𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗻, 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝘄𝗶𝗹𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗴𝗻𝗲𝘀𝘀 𝘁𝗼 𝘀𝗵𝗮𝗿𝗲, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗰𝗼𝘂𝗿𝗮𝗴𝗲 𝘁𝗼 𝗴𝗿𝗼𝘄. 🤝🌊

And now, 𝘄𝗲’𝗿𝗲 𝗹𝗼𝗼𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗳𝗼𝗿𝘄𝗮𝗿𝗱 𝘁𝗼 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗻𝗲𝘄 𝗰𝗼𝗵𝗼𝗿𝘁—because you’ll be the next ones bringing inspiring stories, sharing insights, and helping others feel motivated and supported. 🌟🧭

Mentorship isn’t only about the relationship between mentors and mentees. Mentees learn so much and grow by connecting with each other too! 🧭💡

Let’s keep exchanging ideas, inspiration, and support, and build a community that continues beyond the programme. 🚀

"Hi Amy :)) Through fate’s enigmatic whims, I was gifted the, dare I say, perfect mentor for my mid-year dilemma. Your wisdom and guidance were the main reason I avoided spiralling down an, in hindsight, obviously ill-advised pathway. Your frankly astonishing wealth of experience and the remarkable constellation of similarly extraordinary mentees you have cultivated have sparked countless riveting conversations; conversations that I have hitherto rarely encountered; conversations that I hope to have again soon, later, and always."
