「Think Outside the Box」
🐋 Cetacean Conservation Ambassador Programme: Wrap-Up
Beyond the 11 signature artworks created by our scholars and local artists, the "Think Outside the Box" exhibition featured three unique student-led installations along the gallery hallway!
These pieces were created by teachers and 15 student ambassadors from Lingnan Hang Yee Memorial Secondary School (LHYMSS) as part of the Cetaceans and Biodiversity Exhibition Cum Conservation Ambassador Programme (Phase I) sponsored by the Lingnan Education Organization. Inspired by species like Finless Porpoises, Longman’s Beaked Whales, and Chinese White Dolphins—the designs visually incorporate issues like noise pollution and ghost nets to raise public awareness about marine pollution.
To deepen their understanding, the ambassadors joined the Tai O Cetacean & Biodiversity Field Trip led by our Division of Science research team. By combining hands-on field research with artistic expression, students learned to view urgent marine threats through the eyes of the cetaceans themselves. During the exhibition, they were on-site to guide visitors and present their learning outcomes.
A heartfelt thank you to the teachers and students of LHYMSS for their dedication to ecological education and their support for this exhibition. Together, we are taking meaningful steps toward protecting our oceans! 💙
