Chapter 40 – Going Social

For a while, Leon and I had been thinking about the advice our mentors kept giving us, to start documenting our journey through video content on social media.
Honestly, neither of us felt like we would be particularly good at it, especially since we had never done anything like that before.
But there was clearly a reason why everyone kept suggesting it.
Let’s give it a try. We have nothing to lose.
After a few days of preparing scripts for the videos, we did what we usually do, we called Hrvoje and organized everything together.
The next morning, we met up, set up the equipment, and started filming.
The entire experience was new and interesting, but to be honest, more demanding than we had expected.
We hadn’t realized just how complex the content creation process could be.
Still, we gave it our best and followed one simple rule: done is better than perfect.
When we wrapped up, we were satisfied with how everything turned out.
And as usually happens after days like this, we all went out for a drink together.

Chapter 39 – First Time on Television

It all started with a call from Maja Ilčić and a simple question: would we be interested in presenting SIADUS in a television feature on HRT?
For both Leon and me, this was completely unexpected and new, but of course, we said yes.
We agreed that the recording would take place at ZICER.
On the day of the shoot, we were welcomed by Hrvoje Belamarić and the rest of the TV crew, along with Ivana Rajković Pavlić from ZICER.
The atmosphere was relaxed, and after a brief technical setup, the questions began.
Over the next few minutes, Leon and I presented SIADUS, and we were genuinely satisfied with how it all went.
After that, SIADUS was also presented by Kosjenka Dumančić, a professor from the Faculty of Economics & Business, University of Zagreb, as well as by Frane Šesnić, Director of ZICER, providing broader context to the story.
When the filming wrapped up, we said goodbye to Hrvoje and the rest of the team, without realizing that we would be seeing him again very soon.

Chapter 38 – When Someone Else Tells Your Story

You know that moment when someone sees what you’re working on and presents it to others in their own way?
For us, one of those moments came when Netokracija decided to tell the story of SIADUS.
Not as an idea, and not as a concept, but as a concrete response to real needs in higher education.
That kind of recognition carries special weight.
Especially when it comes from a media outlet that constantly follows, analyzes, and critically observes projects in the tech and startup ecosystem.
Reading about SIADUS through the eyes of someone coming from the outside is a special feeling.
Seeing someone else understand the approach and recognize the potential of what we’re building gives an extra push forward.

Chapter 37 – Event Horizon

There comes a moment in a project’s development when you realize that a boundary has shifted.
That you are no longer talking about an idea, but about something that has stepped out in front of people.
For us, that moment came during a hackathon held at the Faculty of Economics & Business, University of Zagreb, in which we also participated.
Leon Benković and I, together with the rest of the team, were given the opportunity to present SIADUS to the faculty’s partners from both the academic community and the private sector.
It was an important step.
Not only because it was the first time we publicly presented what we had been working on in such a setting, but also because of everything that followed.
The questions, comments, and conversations with numerous participants once again confirmed the value of SIADUS.
It was one of those moments when you know that what you’re building truly makes sense.
And that there is no turning back.

Chapter 36 – First Time on the Global Stage

Up to a certain point, a project develops within a familiar framework.
You work, learn, test ideas, and grow within boundaries you already know.
And then something happens that shows you the story can go further.
For us, one of those moments was the Global Future Summit, held as part of the SILKROAD 4.0 global initiative, which brings together projects and experts from different fields from all over the world.
We were invited to the event thanks to Professor Kosjenka Dumančić from the Faculty of Economics & Business, University of Zagreb, and Dr. Philippe Reinisch, founder of the SILKROAD 4.0 initiative.
What stood out the most to me was the level of collaboration and openness among the participants.
Experts from different countries and disciplines came together to discuss topics that go beyond individual sectors, with a shared goal of improving the society we live in.
In that environment, it was a real privilege to present SIADUS on a global level for the first time.
The conversations, questions, and reactions confirmed that the idea we are working on truly makes sense.
This experience will stay with us.
Not just because of the event itself, but because of the people we met and the perspectives we gained.
