Chapter 47 – Another Interesting Day

It all started with a midterm exam with Professor Nika Šimurina, but the interesting part happened after the formal part was over.
She invited Leon and me to present SIADUS at PwC, one of the Big Four companies, once again showing how much she believes in our initiative and everything we’re trying to achieve with it.
She also invited us to present SIADUS at the Faculty of Economics and Business in Zagreb, as part of the VISIONAIR project, which brings together experts from various countries.
It seems that when you work long enough and with enough dedication on something that has real value, you start to surround yourself with truly high-quality people who recognize that and push you forward.
As if that wasn’t enough, later that same day we were contacted by a radio station. They said that what we’re working on caught their attention and that they would like to organize an interview with us.
It seems this was one of those days when everything just goes right.

Drugu godinu zaredom imali smo priliku predstaviti SIADUS na NXT Innovation Future Forumu u Splitu, razmijeniti iskustva i ostvariti nove kontakte.

Nastavljamo razvijati SIADUS s ciljem stvaranja pristupačnijeg i inkluzivnijeg visokog obrazovanja, ali i novih mogućnosti za povezivanje studenata s tržištem rada.

Chapter 46 – SEED2SCALE

There are moments when you realize that what you are building has potential beyond the environment in which it was created.
For us, one of those moments happened during an international meeting in Zagreb, as part of the SEED2SCALE project.
There, we had the opportunity to meet people from different countries, exchange perspectives, and take part in discussions about the development of social innovations.
What stayed with us the most was the realization of how similar the challenges being discussed actually are, regardless of where they come from.
At the same time, participants showed strong interest in SIADUS.
It was another moment that confirmed to us that what we are building truly makes sense.

Chapter 45 – A Day Full of Opportunities

My phone rang and, of course, it was Leon.
He opened with:
“Guess what your favorite co-founder did today.”
He told me that during a lecture he almost didn’t attend, a guest lecturer from the Faculty of Graphic Arts spoke about inclusion in higher education.
At that moment, Leon briefly presented SIADUS, and the reactions were more than positive.
Everything about it seemed very interesting to them.
Another potential collaboration.
Later that same day, we were contacted by a student with a disability from the Zagreb University of Applied Sciences, who found SIADUS interesting, further confirming that the need for such a solution exists.
And then another opportunity appeared.
Professor Nika Šimurina introduced me to the possibility of presenting SIADUS to PwC Croatia.
This day opened many new doors.

Još jedno predstavljanje SIADUS-a.

Na poziv Ivana Tominca, Leon i ja imali smo priliku predstaviti SIADUS na završnoj konferenciji projekta (In)Validitet, u organizaciji Udruge za osnaživanje i sigurnost mladih AYES.

Razgovarali smo o položaju studenata i osoba s invaliditetom, svakodnevnim izazovima te mogućnostima buduće suradnje.

Zahvaljujemo organizatorima na pozivu i prilici za razmjenu iskustava i ideja.

Chapter 44 – Now It’s Real

The day started like any other.
I still hadn’t fully processed everything that was happening, but when one of my colleagues, Carmen Bojanić, greeted me at the Faculty of Economics & Business, it suddenly hit me:
SIADUS is real.
Something that had started as just another one of my crazy ideas was finally here.
Throughout that initial period, it was truly special to watch the collaboration among colleagues.
Of course, every now and then a bug would appear, but we managed to resolve them successfully.
What I noticed during those first days, however, was something far more important.
The support and cooperation I saw among people were at the very core of everything SIADUS represents.
Had we truly managed to create the foundations for a more equal and inclusive education system and perhaps even a more inclusive society as a whole?

Chapter 43 – Real-World Test

There comes a moment when everything you’ve been working on finally starts being used by the very people you built it for.
For us, that moment came during the enrollment of students with disabilities at the Faculty of Economics & Business, University of Zagreb, when they began registering on SIADUS.
For several evenings in a row, Jan Krajnović, Leon Benković, and I organized meetings with students with disabilities, as well as with their colleagues who wanted to provide support.
Our goal was to help them through the registration process, explain how the system works, and answer any questions that came up.
The process went quite smoothly.
What made me especially happy was seeing how intuitive the system felt, even to those encountering it for the first time.
We also received several very concrete and valuable suggestions for optimization, which is precisely the purpose of the pilot phase.
For all of us, this was a significant moment.
For the first time, what we had been working on was no longer just an idea, a plan, or a presentation, it became a tool in the hands of others.

Ovaj put SIADUS smo predstavili u Varaždinu.

Na poziv Fakulteta organizacije i informatike i profesorice Violete Vidaček Hainš sudjelovali smo na CECIIS-u, gdje smo imali priliku upoznati zanimljive projekte i predstaviti SIADUS.

Posebno nam je bilo zanimljivo vidjeti naglasak na međunarodnoj suradnji, multidisciplinarnosti i povezivanju različitih područja znanosti.

Veselimo se ponovnom dolasku.

Chapter 42 – Déjà Vu
From time to time, we all experience that strange feeling that something happening in the present feels familiar, as if we’ve already lived it once before.
For me, one of those moments was being named among the top 100 students at the Faculty of Economics & Business, University of Zagreb.
For the second year in a row, the Dean Sanja Sever Mališ invited me to take part in the ceremony.
On a personal level, it meant a lot.
It was another reminder that consistent effort and dedication truly pay off.
It confirmed that everything I’ve been working on, both academically and through SIADUS, carries real weight.
On top of that, Professor Jakša Krišto once again highlighted SIADUS during the ceremony, helping further introduce students to what we are working on.
It was one of those days that stays with you.
