Milano on the Podium: Our Students Earn National Third Place in the “Ethics in Business” Competition

The first-year students of the Business Administration and Management program at the University of Nyíregyháza achieved third place in the national case study competition "Ethics in Business," supported by the Hungarian Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

From four teams that participated in the preliminary round, the trio named Milano, consisting of Elek Lara, Séra Milán, and Smajda Noémi, advanced to the national finals. Competing against students from Corvinus University, University of Pécs, MATE, ELTE, and NKE, they secured an impressive third place. Their mentor is Dr. habil. Judit Csákné Filep.

Diverse Research Topics in Education and Learning Methodology: From Artificial Intelligence to Sustainability

On May 27, 2026, the TDK Education and Learning Methodology section (formerly known as the Learning and Teaching Methodology - Knowledge Technology section) successfully took place. Participants presented their research on current and innovative topics, including the role of bees and honey products in promoting a healthy lifestyle, the impact of artificial intelligence on the learning of digital natives, the representation of sustainability in preschool education, and the possibilities of artificial intelligence in assisting diabetics from disciplinary and pedagogical perspectives.

The diverse presentations showcased how education science and pedagogy respond openly to societal, technological, and health challenges.

International Study Visit on Sustainable Water Management at the Bukovec Reservoir

As part of the Interreg SKHU AquaUrban project, the Institute of Environmental and Natural Sciences at the University of Nyíregyháza organized a professional study visit to the Bukovec Reservoir in Slovakia.
The delegation was led by Dr. János István, Director of the Institute, and assistant lecturer Péter Czomba, with the participation of 13 students, including 9 international students. The program also included Krisztina Késmárki, representing the Office for Priority Projects.
During the visit, participants gained detailed insights into the operation of the Bukovec Reservoir and its associated water treatment facility, with a particular focus on contemporary practices in sustainable water resource management and treatment technologies.
This workshop forms part of the broader AquaUrban collaboration, which brings together the cities of Nyíregyháza and Košice, Pavol Jozef Šafárik University in Košice, and the University of Nyíregyháza. The partnership aims to advance cross-border knowledge exchange and develop innovative, sustainable strategies for urban water management.
